He’s getting better

July 28th, 2010    Posted by: Tilly

Welcome back!

Well after the other day, my husband was sore and had trouble sitting in our vehicle.

The safety belt made him sit back and his back was sore. We got home and I had to change the bandage right away since the site was leaking. Not enough to worry, or enough to check out life insurance leads.

I checked it out last night and the site was really looking better. It has stopped leaking, and it is not as sore as it had been. He was able to sleep on his back last night. As I put 2 ‘nots’ at the end of my last blog, you know that I am praying the biopsies come back all good, and free from bad stuff. :)

Operation - OW

July 26th, 2010    Posted by: Tilly

Well, my husband saw the dermatologist today. The doc immediately started to snip and take biopsy samples.

By time he was done, my husband had a few bandages on him and new instructions on how to take care of the different sites.

In a couple of weeks, we will be hearing from the doctor as to whether or not those things were cancerous or not.

They knew her voice

July 23rd, 2010    Posted by: Tilly

Guess that you wonder who I am talking about.

Well, I am talking about my niece (when she was younger), and the operators of the 911 system here where we live. When she was younger, she had a fascination for the phone. Her mom got the bill for quite a few 911 calls that were not really that type of situation. They had an unlocked phone that anyone could pick up and use.

Now, my niece was only 7 at the time and didn’t quite understand that not being able to get to the candy jar was not a 911 affair. She learned finally. She is now in her 20’s and has a couple of kids to boot. I wonder if they will also like the phone? :)

Finger Speak

July 21st, 2010    Posted by: Tilly

I am not talking gibberish here.

Finger speak is another name for the deaf alphabet. I know that American Sign Language is made of gestures that will create sentences. Using finger speak or Finger Spelling , there are only 26 gestures to learn. Each gesture represents a letter in the alphabet. This will work for many English speaking people, if you know how to spell the words in other languages like German, French, and so on, it can help there too.

I do not know any of the gestures in ASL, except for the one that says I love you. You use your hand - hold out your thumb, pointer finger, and your little finger. It almost looks like the gesture that is used by surfers.

If you are ever in a place where you do not understand what people are saying, you can understand how lonely that can be for someone who is deaf. You never know, it might come in handy someday. :)

Nuttin Much

July 20th, 2010    Posted by: Tilly

Well since the last time that I wrote something, nothing much has happened.

In other words, the computer is finally co-operating in not shutting off as much. It was about to drive me crazy there for a while. Now, if nothing much is going on, my screen saver likes to kick in. That I do not mind as much since I set it for a short waiting period since I like to watch the pipes grow.

In the neighborhood, not much is going on except for people packing their stuff for the big renovation that is coming. I am not looking forward to that at all.

Driving me daisy….crazy

July 13th, 2010    Posted by: Tilly

My computer is driving me CRAZY. *^%$^%$#()(_&%$#

If IT thinks a link is taking too long, it puts up a message that it timed out. Yeah, RIGHT…I don’t think so. IF I am working on something and it hasn’t had computer messages going back and forth, say I am typing something…it disconnects me from the internet.

Who designed this crazy stupid junk? I would dearly like to give that person some of my point of view when I get disconnected, interrupted, and in general driven crazy. I was e (*&%$) it did it again! I am beginning to HATE computer and their supposed logic boards. There is no logic to something deciding - 0n its own - to disconnect when it hasn’t been asked to.

Tired out

July 8th, 2010    Posted by: Tilly

The running is catching up with me.

It is hard to think. I need some discount diet pills…no some energy pills. Vitamins, a shot, SLEEP that’s it!

I need some sleep. My eyes are getting very heavy. My mind is getting very foggy. No, wait a minute that’s the weather. As for the line - my eyes are getting heavy - I think that I’ve heard that line before, when the hypnotist was trying to get the person hypnotized.

Ha, I am not hypnotizzzzzzzzzzz………………….

Workout

July 7th, 2010    Posted by: Tilly

I feel as if I am getting a workout with all of the running that I’ve been doing.

I don’t even need any fitness equipment in order to get the workout. It would be very nice to have a day with no running, no bad news, no pain.

I am hoping for a miracle of course. I know that miracles still happen every time that I wake up in the morning, it is another miracle. I just want a different type of miracle this time. Money to hire the packing to be done by someone else. The cleaning by someone else.

It is nice to have day dreams.

Trimming time

July 7th, 2010    Posted by: Tilly

It’s time for a quick trim.

My hair has gotten too long for my comfort. What I usually do is pull it up and through an empty tape roll that used to hold some box tape. You know the stuff, it is clear and about 2″ across.

When I hold the hair through the empty roll, I then place the scissors across the roll and snip what hair shows above the cardboard roll. It seems to work rather neatly. I have never had someone look at me, scream, and then run away. I won’t win any beauty contest, but my head is cooler, and the hair does not get into everything anymore. :)
