Remember when?

Welcome back!

When I was a little girl (yes I used to be little), mom told me of one of the times when I would sleepwalk.

My husband used to sleepwalk, thank God he doesn’t do that any longer. He still talks in his sleep however. Anyway, mom told me that I had come into the bathroom when she was showering. She usually did that after I went to sleep and supposedly couldn’t get into mischief. She heard me muttering to myself as I sat on the lowered lid of the toilet. The next thing she heard was me inviting Marshall Matt Dillon to come into the bathroom with me. She told me that she had mentioned that she did not have on any clothes, so he really shouldn’t come in. My reply was to say, “That’s okay mommy, he doesn’t have his gun on.”

Oh the innocence of youth. As I think on it now, I snicker. Thank God she realized that strange things can come out of the mouths of sleepwalking kids.

I am no psychiatrist to understand why people do things such as sleepwalk. All I know is that it happens sometimes. When this had happened to me, I was only about 8 or so years old. As far as I know, I no longer sleepwalk. My husband tells me that sometimes I talk in my sleep. At least that doesn’t involve getting out of bed to do so. I mean what is the use of going to bed if you’re not going to get any rest anyway? ;)
