V.A. Abuses

Friday, June 20th, 2008

Welcome back!

The Veterans Administration is supposed to support and HELP the veterans of this country, the U.S.A. Yet when I look around, I see stories of the VA abuses or ignoring the same vets that have fought for our country.

Just read an article about the VA using veterans for guinie pigs (not sure how to spell that).Maybe I should spell it as the VA acting just as some doctors did during WW2. ABC did a report on some of it. I found out about it on a site called Off The Cuff.

Another thing it has been doing is to refuse treatment for things it has chosen to call ‘not service connected’ troubles. If the person was in the military, promises were made about medical treatment being available. Now the vets are finding out that this promise was nothing more than empty promises. This is a shameful way to treat those who have served us, not just the idea of “country”, but US as individuals.

Bored, Bored, Bored

Friday, June 20th, 2008

My husband, as I have mentioned before, has a strange sense of humor. This morning he didn’t even wait until I had completely awakened. He announced that he was BORED.

Our nearby friend had not yet shown up. He announced that he was so bored that he was 2×2 bored. Then he said that he was 2×4 bored. He muttered to himself some, then he said loudly - I’m 4×4 bored!

I asked him what he meant, and he told me that he was bored because our friend hadn’t come over yet. OY VEY, it’s going to be one of those days. Asked him why he didn’t turn on the TV, he said “tried that, bored”. He’d been working on a stereo but couldn’t get it open, said that bored him, too. Well, all I could say is “good morning world, it’s going to be another interesting day”. At least it will be a good interesting because while my husband said he was bored, he smiled. Some of his mutterings did not make sense, oh well. There was a knock on the door - tadah - our friend is here. Now I hear laughter and lots of talking, so here I am. At least he’s not bored any longer.:)

Oh yeah, if anyone points at you and says - “may you live interesting times” - deck the bum for he ain’t a friend. After all the TV news shows are full of what is considered interesting: floods, earthquakes, wars, accidents, robberies….need I say more?
