Toothache
Welcome back!
I bet almost everyone has had a toothache at one time or another.
One day my husband had a really horrible toothache in one of his front teeth. It was in the middle of the month and we didn’t have the funds to go to the dentist. I imagine that we are not the only people to have that trouble once in a while. You use your money for bills and for the things needed in your household, then BAM, you get hit with a nasty surprise.
Well, my husband is an inventive type of person, and tried to figure another way around the dentist visit. He doesn’t like them very much. He decided to pull his own tooth. I still get chills down my back thinking of that. In one thing he was blessed, his tooth didn’t have twisted roots. It was a straight tooth over an inch long. It had a hole in it exactly half way down the tooth, right at the gum line. He got it out. He told me about it AFTER he had pulled the tooth out. He got told in basic language that what he had done was not to be repeated. He had a doctor visit shortly after this incident. The doctor explained what could have happened. My husband then promised not to do such a thing again.
The idea that he could have gotten blood poisoning, split his jaw bone, broken off the tooth and left jagged parts sticking out to catch his tongue…..the list goes on. It could have turned out to be a horrendous nightmare for him and me. I say me because of the worry that would have been caused. He has had aches since then; but, he doesn’t reach for the pliers anymore. Thank God. All that I can say is that God made sure that there are dentists on the face of the earth. They need jobs, too.
