American Flag

Friday, July 4th, 2008

Welcome back!

I want to say OUR flag, but I know others from other countries read blogs, too.

My brother-in-law sent me a site that made me cry. It’s about the flag of MY country. I know that sometimes people mess up politically and in other situations; but, I love my country.

I hope other people can have a love of their country. Pride in the place where you live is very important. I don’t always like some of the things that I see happen - that’s life. At least I can be happy about where I live. I’s writing this on the fourth of July. Here in the USA that is our independence day, a time to celebrate. Many people have died to make sure that this country has a chance to exist. I like to give my opinions, I am allowed to do so. I like to worship the way that I like, I am allowed to do so. There’s more for me to like here, but I do not want to drag out my opinions.

Here is the site that was sent: home.comcast.net/~nw-fla/tribute_flag_B_thompson.htm

Headache :(

Friday, July 4th, 2008

If you’re on the internet, you know about spam. UG is all that I can say.

The first time I was able to get to a site for surveys (I enjoy filling those things out) I let myself in for a headache. I look up my e-mail and find supposed ‘opportunities’ for this that and the other. Buy and sell gold. I don’t have a lot of money, and no gold. Date singles, I am happily married. Get new job training. I like to watch CSI but don’t want to be one. The list goes on and on. I have finally gotten used to the use of the red X button on the top of the list. That doesn’t stop the junk mail from coming, just makes it easier to deal with.

Some of the things talked about…well. They try to make it seem as if I had asked them to contact me, as if !! I guess that the X button is my e-mail headache version of aspirin. :)

Exercise

Friday, July 4th, 2008

I’ve talked about …dieting - ug. I know that it is necessary, but it ain’t easy. Especially if you are a person who likes food as I do.

I wish there was a magic pill that would help. It does not exist. Exercise is hard for someone with Arthritis. There are good days, and there are bad days. I have a collection of different types of walking sticks in the house. Some days I need them, some days I don’t. I would love to walk in the park down the block from me, but the heat outside would make it very hard. I’ve thought about getting treadmills one for me and one for my husband. It would be like walking side by side. Our main trouble is that there is no room in our house. I saw, on the internet, a site where some house hold cats decided to use the treadmill and it was hilarious, but I’m talking about exercise for the people of the house, not our cats. There has to be something that will work. Just have to keep on looking.
