Dentists

I haven’t been to the dentist in quite a while. If I went to one today, the poor man would probably faint.

My husband was the last one to see a dentist. He ended up getting two teeth drilled out of his head. I remember that he fell asleep and the dentist had to keep waking him up. My husband told me later tht he had been dreaming about a charlotte north carolina dentist that wanted to take photos of his mouth. I asked him if he had ever been to that place and he said not that he knew of.

The last dentist we had seen was a nice man and did everything he could to help my husband and keep him from feeling pain. A more considerate man for the patient couldn’t have been easy to find. Considering that my husband had, in the past, had his jaw wired and teeth wired into his jaw, it couldn’t have been easy. I’m just thankful that everything worked out okay. When I think of the fact that he talks in his sleep, I can see why the dentist had to wake him in order to work. It kept things lively. :)

I’m not awake, yet

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

Or in other words (computerese) - The computer has been booted, but some of the programs are not running as of yet.:)

Some mornings I get out of bed, and it is a while before I am awake enough to realize that I’m not in bed anymore. I’m not sleep walking, though. Stumbling, muttering, bleary eyed - oh yeah. But, not sleep walking.

I can’t be the only one having that problem sometimes. I have heard my husband stumbling around in the bedroom, so I know that he understands what I’m talking about. Coffee helps him to “boot up” his brain. I have used cheese. Of course, I like cheese, so I use almost any excuse that I can. I used to think that I should have been born with big ears. (You know, like Mickey Mouse). At least then I could have earned money in the circus, snicker…

I’m awake, now, and I think all of the programs have started up and are running. I just wish that I knew what ‘programs’ those are. ;)

Gas Prices and Credit Cards

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

I read an article on Window Shopper. It’s one of the links that I like to check out a lot. You can see its link next to my articles.

In one of the latest articles, new charges being added to the credit cards was discussed. I mean that the credit cards already charge a big amount of interest, they charge yearly charges just for having them, they charge late charges if you’re even a couple hours late paying. What are they - cafeterias in disguise.

I’ve worked at a cafeteria. Every individual thing, even butter, has a charge. It is very easy to spend a lot of money just to get a balanced meal. What gives with the credit cards wanting to do the same thing? Aren’t they getting enough money as it is? I’m afraid that I think it all stinks. They are sapping the public with each individual charge, and it is getting worse as the days go on.

Armor, Mail, and Historical Items

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

When I had lived in Florida, I had worked several places. One place was a machine shop that made so many different types of things that is was amazing.

The man who was hired to inspect the parts to make sure they followed the specifications of the blueprints, was also into medieval apparel. On his spare time - lunch, breaks, after his shift - he would make different things. He made a crossbow from a car leaf spring. He made chain mail - one link at a time. The only thing he had not yet made was a suit of armor. He was a patient man who took great care in the things that he did. He brought his own supplies to make these things. Sometimes the man who owned the factory, would stand and watch him over the man’s shoulder. Think about it…Chain mail is made of thousands of rings that are joined together very closely interlinking to make , basically, metal cloth. I wonder if he ever got around to making his own armor.
