Candy

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

I love candy. All types of candy. One of my favorites is the Heath candy bar.

Every time I get some, I try to make them last…….oh well.

I try to slow down how quickly that I eat them. Scraping the chocolate off of the bar completely first is the first step. Then letting the remaining toffee slowly dissolve in my mouth is the next thing. Yum. I just wish that they made a Heath bar that didn’t have any chocolate on it at all. White chocolate would probably be good also. Sometimes I just want the toffee.

I do not hate chocolate – NOT AT ALL. Sometimes, I just want the toffee. :)

Bowel Problems

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

My husband has suffered from something all of his life that his family hasn’t understood.

He has Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation.

IBS all by itself can cause cramping, bloating, gas, and pain. He has to take an assortment of different over-the-counter medicines to keep himself from getting dangerously constipated. It doesn’t seem that a simple thing like constipation can be dangerous, but think on this, John Wayne probably died from it.

I have heard that a colon cleanse can help. I don’t know about the effects of the colon cleanse medicine and all of the other medicines combined together. Currently he takes 15 different medicines for his health. The ones he takes now for his IBS are: Fiber, Milk of Magnesia, and Colace. I asked the doctor if there were any other medicines that would work, and he told me that he was concerned with the combination of medicines that he is already taking. Maybe a pharmacist would be able answer the question, but I have no idea what is in the colon cleanse item.

If you know someone who is having similar trouble with their bowels, it is NOT something to be taken lightly. Anyone who has had trouble with being constipated knows the discomfort involved. With those with IBS, the problem is sometimes constant. Relief is not only for comfort, but for health reasons. Ignoring it will not make it go away, nor will scoffing at the one who is afflicted with the troubles.

Gadgets

Howdy, It is the opinionated female again !!

Saw something that would be good for the techno-type of person who likes to connect with a lot of different types of things all at once. It is called a HDMI switch. As is explained it makes it possible to hook up with at least three items with high tech stuff in it. I have no idea what it does or how it does it. As I have said before, I am still having trouble with being analog in these very digital times.

The idea of connecting one high tech gadget with something is enough to give me the shivers. However, connecting three at once has got to be something for the digitally minded type of person out there. I don’t mind the techno-types, because we all need them. I just wish that I could understand what is being said sometimes. :)

Fed Up

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Yup, I’m fed up with the media. First they say one person is going to win, then they say another. Since when did they become the big experts in how people vote? They don’t even listen to the average person.

Back when Truman was running against Dewy for the White House, the media was so sure it knew everything, that it had front pages printed with the banner that Dewy had won the election. History had proven them wrong of course. Again they were talking that Hilary Clinton was assured of getting the nomination. Well, we all know how that ended.

Why does the media continue to assume that they know it all? They appear to be out of touch with the average citizen in this country. They have continued to push the idea that being liberal is where most of the country is at, when most of the country is combined of a mixture of different people with each having a different point of view.

I sometimes wonder where they get their supposed polls from, because the people that I talk to do not agree with what is being quoted. I used to think that the news was facts that were being talked about. Today it is mostly opinion….theirs, not ours.
