Hurricanes and other storms

Welcome back!

I live in Texas. There is a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico headed to my state. The hurricane’s name is IKE. So far, it has hurt other places and people.

There storm warnings out for the coast of Texas. Smart people in the path of the storm have already left or are packing. I figure that in spite of what happened with Katrina, there will be some who do not realize just how destructive that wind and water can be.

The Grand Canyon here in the USA was created by wind and water. The stunami that killed so many was from water. Tornadoes are from wind. The damage that they do is well documented. With such a possibly dangerous storm headed towards this state, I wish that people would take the storm warnings seriously.

The outskirts of any hurricane can create tornadoes. so not only would there be wind and water from the hurricane, but also extra damage from a possible tornado. From personal experience, I KNOW that the presence of a tornado interferes with the reception in a cell phone. There isn’t any, no signal. Even landlines can be brought down.

Please take the storm warnings to heart, Please use caution.
