Gas Prices
Monday, October 6th, 2008Welcome back!
Whoopee, the gas prices are going down. No, it is not a true celebration. The rise in gas prices was not necessary. The shortage of the supply of gas was not necessary. I appreciate that I am paying less. However, it would really be nice for someone to admit that the reason why the price of gas went to high was greed.
The individual stations are not to blame. They only pass on what they have to pay themselves. They too, were caught between a rock and a hard place. We should not blame the individual station owners for something that was created by those higher up in the chain of command. Why are the company executives getting any type of bonus, or extra pay? Why would anyone think they deserve it after the botched handling of their companies’ businesses? Ordinary people are the ones who are being hurt. The executives, they are not facing the same problems as Mr Joe American on the street. Why doesn’t anyone investigate just what exactly was manipulated to cause the problems? I cannot be the only one curious about that. Why hasn’t the Media circus started to explore true cause and effect? I am still curious.
