Now What?

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

Welcome back!

Maybe I am getting older. I am not able to lose weight very easily. I sometimes eat things that give me diarrhea, and gas. Those things are supposed to be good for me and to help to lose weight, you know lots of veggies do that, At least I do enjoy veggies. I ache all the time from Arthritis, if I have a day without any pain at all, it is very rare. That does get tiring.

Don’t worry, I am too stubborn and pigheaded to give up.

I have had people suggest that I use chop sticks to eat with. The only trouble is that I love chop sticks and can eat faster with them, than with a fork. I have several sets of chop sticks that I use at different times. I also save them when we actually have the money to eat out, take them home and use them in arts and crafts projects. (They make neat crosses.)

There is something that I wonder about, though. There are a lot of diet pills on the market, what is with the names? Leptorexin, Fenfedra, yada, yada, yada. How do they think up those names, why can’t they make them easier to remember or pronounce? Well, any way; my main trouble is that I like food. Most of the people that I know do also. After all what would be the point in making food that doesn’t taste good? I know that not everyone has the option to be picky about what they eat or if they eat, so I shouldn’t complain. I wish that dieting was easier. :)

Am I Getting Old?

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

I do wonder, am I getting old? I have grey/gray hair (depends on how you spell it), wrinkles that are starting to show, and sometimes my memory is not what I would like it to be.

Now I do not have a Mac memory by any means. I cannot add a stick or two to increase what my memory capacity happens to be. I could do that on my computer, but my brain is already hard wired with what ever it happens to have. Maybe it is because of all the different things that have gone on in my life? I don’t know. All I know is that when I cannot remember the word dress to complement a friend on what she is wearing, it makes me wonder what is going on.

So, does that mean that I am getting old? I don’t know………….can’t remember. :)

Shopping Woes

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

Have you seen the people in the stores? Many of them have such severe frowns, that I would not want to be on the road with them.

If you are looking for a sale, try going online in order to avoid the traffic, especially the sour pusses. I have seen some commercials for Buy.com that are very funny. Howie Mandel is in 2 of them. In one he talks to an office person who seems to take great delight in not having to leave his cubicle in order toshop. The man looks like the guy from ‘The Core’ who was the computer expert, he should know computers after all. The other commercial has Howie talking to a Christmas tree asking for ideas on how to tell people about the free shipping. The dude wearing the tree costume has no ideas. How can someone wearing a tree costume have no ideas about Christmas? The look on Howie’s face should be priceless.

I always thought that Christmas was a time for happiness, and joy. I know that times are tough, but frowns make things tougher for you and for everyone around you. A smile will take less effort from your facial muscles and help save wrinkles later on. All that I can say is that giving a smile once in a while does help, these commercials help with that. :)

Health Remedies

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

These days many people are trying to save money on their medicine costs. Natural remedies are being offered - at a price. Well, my sister sent me a site that has information on it that comes from off of your own home shelves.

The site is called - HEALTH CARE FOR ALL. From what i read it looks as if the person did a lot of searching for information. I , myself have only a few ideas of things that are natural and helpful : peanut butter to remove chewing gum, ginger to settle an upset stomach, grapes-olives-tomatoes to ease mild gall bladder symptoms, saltines to settle uneasy tummies (pregnant women have used them for years). I realize that a lot of research needs to be done to get the right ingredients and items. If you are interested this site might help you out. I didn’t check out all of the pages available, so have fun, and be careful. Some people might have allergies to some of the items mentioned. Example - my husband is allergic to anything having to do with ginger, turmeric, and cardamom.

I Have Eyes & I Know How to Use Them

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

yes, I do have eyes. I use them all the time. I love to read, my bedroom is proof of that with hundreds (yes, hundreds) of books stuffed into a 6 foot tall bookcase, packed into bags, packed into boxes, and stacked in different places.

Now I do not need Nikon binoculars in order to read. Nope, I just have to take off my glasses. The eye doctor wanted me to get bifocals, but I have seen some family members have trouble with not seeing steps in front of them and tripping, so I have regular glasses. I thank God that I can read, and that I can do that without any extra help. I thank God for books.

Of course, I could use another couple of bookcases, but the videos that we have in this house would probably fill them before I could get my books on them. Oh well. :)

Survey Reject

Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

I am a grumpy ’survey reject’, and I am not ashamed to admit it.

If you like to take surveys the way that I do, you will find out soon that if you are female, white and in your fifties, you will not be needed much. That hurts. It makes it sound as if your opinions do not count. Never mind all the spending of money that you do. Your opinion is not wanted.

What I wonder is - why do they send out a survey to me in the first place when they know how old I am and that I am female….etc? It makes me wonder if they even examine the different wants of the person who needs the survey to begin with. They could just save time if they would read what they are sending out. Am I grumpy? YUP :/

Games 7

Monday, December 8th, 2008

Anyone who has visited my blog before has probably realized that there are several things that I really like: Cats, Food, Books, and Games.

I guess you can figure what I am going to talk about today. Ah, but you do not know which one, though. I know, I know, I am a smart alec.

TETRIS I finally found in and have enjoyed myself ever since. I can almost hear the pops as new shapes appear, and the little sound played when another row is gone. Tetris is very addictive, so make sure you do not have anything else to do first. :)

Feeling Better

Friday, December 5th, 2008

Yea ! I’m feeling better. My head isn’t as clogged down, my coughing has basically stopped, my nose is no longer trying to run away from me (and succeeding, too), I no longer ache and feel chilled.

In other words, the cold has basically run its course. When it is finally gone, I will be very happy. Right now my husband is right in the middle of his suffering with his cold. At least I have the stuff to help comfort him since I had already gotten the cough medicine and other things needed.

Things could be much worse. It isn’t the flu, it isn’t anything else either. Yes, colds can and do make you feel miserable, but they do end )even though at the time they feel like they last forever). Here’s hoping that you do not get caught with the sniffles yourself. :)

I Don’t Feel so Good

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

I am not lying here. I really don’t feel so good.

i have a cold. Not the flu, thank God, just a cold. That is bad enough, though. My head is stuffy, I cough, I sniffle. YUK, ECHK me sad :(

Do I sound like I’m pouting? I should sound like that because I am. Right now, my typing….stinks. I have to keep backing up and correcting my typos, too. Things take longer that way. I am also having trouble thinking. I am taking something to make the symptoms easier. Anti-biotics will not help because the cold comes from a virus, and anti-biotics do not work on viruses.

So, I moan, whimper….and life goes on. How pitiful do I sound now (snicker in my head).:)
