I watched it

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Yes, Pres. Obama was on the TV tonight. I watched it.

I still have questions about health insurance when you do not have any money. That question was not answered for me and probably for others, too. I guess that I could always invest in short term health insurance NC. However, like I said, I do not have money.

Here in Central Texas, we have a hospital that has special programs for those without money. I know in Arkansas, they have no programs like that. How about in other states? I just hope that when all is said and done, the special programs to help those without money are not stopped.

Junk Mail

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

I have probably mentioned this before, but I do not really like junk mail. Wspecially when it hits my in-box on the computer.

I have unsubscribed from so many sites, it has made no difference. It seems like the junk-e-mail just keeps on coming. YUK YUK YUK !!!!

I wish that I knew more about computers so that I could give them some crud in return. I am very tired of finding information about sexual organs and pills concerning those items. I do not want to date others, I am married and happy about it.

I am complaining. Definitely complaining. At least I am able to blow some steam somewhere.

Still Two Ton

Monday, July 20th, 2009

I am still Two Ton Tilly. I haven’t lost weight yet. I keep hearing about diet and exercise, but pain does limit any possible exercise.

I have thought about checking out weight loss supplements reviews to see what is out there, but with all the medicine that I am taking, it would be hard to find something that wouldn’t interfere.

Don’t Eat Aunt Marsha

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Yes, the phrase that you see is exactly what I meant to type.

There is a commercial on TV for the Verizon network. It shows a family and kid with a pinata and one child trying to whack it. The father (I guess) is talking to the people of the network. After talking to them, he takes the stick from the blind-folded child and whacks the pinata which of course causes candy to fall out. Of course the amount of candy falling out is way more than what that pinata can hold.

While the stuff is falling out, he turns, points, and says “Don’t eat that Marsha!” However the man is talking so fast that it sound totally as if he is saying – Don’t eat Aunt Marsha. Every time that I hear that commercial, now, I burst out laughing.

Of course if the man had properly enunciated what he was saying, I wouldn’t remember the commercial and wouldn’t laugh now. :)

Grrrrr

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

I know that is not a word, but right now that is how I feel.
GRRRRRR

I was trying to do something on the computer, and the memory has gotten real tight. I have no idea why, but it has gotten tight. Down to 5% of all things. I am no expert, but that sounds wrong. I know that laptop memory can be improved and expanded. I just wonder about table top computers.

I was working on something, the next I knew, it was frozen. YUK The only thing that I could do was to hit the reset button. A narrow excape, but from what?

What was it that I said before? Oh yeah…..Grrrrr.

Humor Rules !

Thursday, July 16th, 2009

Yes, I do believe in the generous use of humor.

It can show up in some very unexpected situations. People around you might not understand all of the time, or even some of the time. One way that humor is a positive thing is that it can lift us out of the doldrums and help us to get more light-hearted.

When things are going strange around you sometimes having a good laugh can help. Just because people expect you to cry, does not mean that you cannot laugh. The human mind can only take so much sadness, and it needs to feel relief.

If you are with someone who has gone through tough times, and they laugh unexpectedly, it might be their mind trying to get rid of some pressure. If someone that you know is going through something hard, try to help them and not lay guilt trips on them, they already have enough to handle.

Within the last year, my husband and I lost 4 people that meant a lot to us. We have laughed and cried. We have survived and still remember the good things from our lost loved ones. Laughter at times can help to lighten a heart and mind that are on overload.

I am not a mind doctor. I have not any really special training, but I AM A SURVIVOR of grief.

Well, it hasn’t happened yet.

I am talking about rain here. Or, should I say lack of rain.

I have no desire to roast, but I wonder about our electric bill. We live in an apartment that is very well insulated, so it isn’t as bad as it could be. The central air does a good job cooling, as I said , it takes electricity.

Heat Wave

Sunday, July 12th, 2009

The heat wave is continuing.

We have been asked to cut down on electricity.

In Florida, the NASA program has had to hold off on a launch. Too bad they cannot send the rain our way.

Rolling Blackouts

Friday, July 10th, 2009

The heat is on. The threat of rolling blackouts is also on if people do not find a way to cut back on their electric usage.

Since we live in a part of Texas where the heat goes over 100, cutting back on the AC is not reasonable for those with health problems. Turning off extra lights, going on line after 10 pm, not watching TV all the time, however are reasonable.

Here is hoping that we do not get blacked out.

Fasting

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Lately we have been fasting at least one day a week. Fasting can be very good for you and for your wallet. Since we ae both over-weight, one day each week won’t hurt us at all.

One other thing that we also do is to do a lot of praying when we fast. For far too long, we have been eating and gaining weight. I hope that this will help us to change ourselves at least a little.

The idea that it also helps to save a little money helps, too.
