I locked him out

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

Welcome back!

Yup, I sure did. Guess who I locked out? My husband.

I really did not mean to do that, but I wasn’t really awake just yet. He was outside taking to one of our neighbors. I went out said hi, and then went back in. About 30 minutes later, I heard someone trying the door knob.

I looked out the peep hole and saw my husband out there trying to get in. I had forgotten that he was out there. OOPS I let him in and then apologized. He later told me that he was glad that I didn’t go back to sleep.

I have a feeling that he might carry his keys with him next time. That is the 2nd time that he has been locked out and both times it was my fault. The first time I was locked out also. Our maintenance man at the apartments had to go in through a window to let us both in.. As he went in he said that he could watch tv. I had forgotten to turn it off when we both went to visit another neighbor, along with forgetting to carry my own keys with me.

Maybe I should wear a key on a chain around my neck? :)

It’s smokin’

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

A lot of places these day are set up as being smoke free. The Hospital whose clinic we visit so much is also that way.

If someone wants to smoke, they probably have to go home, get in their car, or go some place where they can get out their Swisher Sweets and puff away.

Once I smelled a cigar that smelled like hot chocolate. I do not remember the brand, but it smelled great, almost like insense or a cup of hot chocolate. I do not know if those things still exist. Most cigar do not smell so nice. It is a shame that they do not all have a nice aroma.

As I sit….

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Yes, there is an old phrase that starts that way and ends with something else -snickering heard.

However, I am not talking about odors or other things right now. I am on an old piece of office furniture that has had the back taken off. It is handy for what I need, except for the 5 wheels that it has that like to bump (painfully) on the backs of my heels. It rolls around where I need it, I do not have to worry about any arms getting in the way, or having to sit on it in a specific manner.

It is comfortable unless I have spent too many hours sitting on it. If my husband was to tell me to ‘ahem’ “sit on it”, right now I would tell him that I already am sitting on it. :)

Now what?

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

Now I am wondering what will happen next.

I am hearing growls from my husband and I know that this time I am innocent. Of course there is the small matter of his needing to occupy the bathroom for a while, and my need to use it too. Maybe some weight loss pills would help then we could both be in there at the same time. Of course that means that I would have to sit on his lap and he might not like that very much.

If you can hear snickers right now, you will know that I am just fooling around and having some fun. He is grunting and groan, not growling. :)

Still here

Friday, September 25th, 2009

I am still here. I just went through some interesting things with my computer. I learn a little each day. Hopefully the computer survives what I do to it.

Some programs….well, lets just say that my experimenting sometimes has unfortunate results. I won’t dance around about it, although Dansko shoes should help even me to dance, I messed up. Erased somethings that I did not want to have erased.

With the help of my brother-in-law Ed, things are basically back to good operating condition. Here’s hoping that I learn and don’t mess up again. :)

Forgetting, forgetting, oops

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

What was I saying? I forget…..again.

I am not yet 60. Why is my memory getting so full of holes? I have no idea. All that I know is that should I think of something, I should write it down quickly before something else takes the idea away.

Don’t worry, this started to happen when i was only 17. Of course that does not say anything about how it is right now, though.

Tires - tires - ARG

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

You know, it is really hard to drive on any road when one side of your tire is flat.

I called around a few places and could not find a 14′ tire , unless I wanted a new one at a price that we cannot afford. I found myself screaming at the sky over that one. Is it not a pain in the tucus.

I finally found a tire. First, however, I checked the van to see what size was needed to be replaced. This is what I found.

Right front tire - 185/60/14
Left front - 195/70/14
Right rear - 185/70/14
Left rear - 185/65/14
Spare tire - 205/70/14 It also had a hole in the sidewall, useful - NOT

If you read the list carefully, there are 5 different sizes connected to our van. ARGThat is one way to go nuts quickly. We were blessed. There is a place nearby that sells car parts. You pull the part off the junker with your own tools. At least the tires were already on a rack and didn’t need to be removed from the rims. After we got the flat tire inflated, went to the bank, drove to the parts yard, got the tire, went to the repair shop and they installed the tire for us. Our back tires now match. Will wonders never cease.( HAH insert sarcasm here.)

Oh well, we got a tire and we are on the road again. The spare, well……The rear tires are both now 185/70/14’s. Yes we can roll on down the road. For now.

I need to lose weight

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

I know, it is a DUH moment here, but it is true.

The moment is true, but I do not need to hear about exercise. That is something that I can’t do. Not won’t, but can’t. I hear about people taking diet pills, I also hear about all sorts of diets.

It would be nice it there were pills that would make your body react as if it was exercising, but without the chance of pain. Yes, I said pain, not rain. I know there aren’t any such a thing right now, but it sure would be handy.

I recently went to the doctor and was very surprised myself at what the scale read. UG is the only thing that I could say. Is there a food that makes you body think that it is exerciseing? I would love to hear about it.

Free Directory Needed

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

In society, we need free directories on how to get through all of the red tape that the government puts out.

There is supposed to be a phone number that you can call to get free publications to help with stuff. However, the government is not so simple. You would think that the color red in dye and in ink would so expensive because of its over use.

Really simple stuff? Would it be the same government if it was simple? Of course not, but it would probably run in a cheaper manner and not be so complicated. I realize that I am not being realistic. If any one could do it, then all of the politicians would need to go on unemployment. *snicker*

Got to thinking

Friday, September 18th, 2009

After writing that last article, I got to thinking.

The rain that we had actually closed down Salado, Texas. The news said that it is open for business again. I was thinking that a good vacation would come in handy during the gully washer. Let’s see Cozumel vacations, Vacations on the Riviera, Bahamas, where else?

Oh yeah, you could stay at home and not go outside at all - boring. Travel can be fun. Just think, if you let someone else drive you there is all of the sightseeing that you could do as you travel. Sit back, relax, watch out the window, watch the billboards go by. Watch the traffic around you. Have you ever noticed that people can be weird sometimes? Of course, I am poifectly noimal - NOT. :)
