Recipe

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Welcome back!

Okay, I’ve been thinking about it.

If anyone out there in internet-land has a recipe for sugarfree pecan pie, I would love to hear about it. I would really appreciate having some pecan pie and just do not want to worry about all of the calories that it might have. I guess the pie crust has enough by itself.

By the way do you have a really good recipe for pie crust? I’m hungry. :)

Everything

What are you shopping for this season?

Most times people will answer - everything and the kitchen sink- for what they are shopping and looking for.

Me, I have a kitchen sink. I would like to have a mincemeat pie, or a pecan pie. Sounds simple doesn’t it? Well…..maybe not. Both the mincemeat pie, and the pecan pie use a lot of sugar in them. Maybe I should only want just one slice of eith one. I would still have the taste in my mouth. :)

Who do you talk to?

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Maybe I should have said, how do you talk to people?

On the phone is a popular way to talk, in person is also good. I also talk online to my brother-in-laws, yes, more than one that is. I know that some will need live chat software for their laptops, others will need new programs for their desk tops. Do people still use desktop computers?

I do, do not have any laptop. Of course, I have learned how to do a lot of talking with only my nouth. I do sometimes get into trouble though. At least when I type it on the keyboard, I have time to think before typing and can delete.

You do not want to know how many times I delete things because of typos. That is another story. :)

What season is this?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

What season is this? Spending, camping, sales, and turkeys.

Well, that nice and all that but, the ones that I think about are those who needs some employment. I mean, having a place to sleep, eat, rest and relax is really important.

I was homeless once and it is a scary feeling. Some jobs right now are only for the season, but people needs jobs all of the time. Here is a link for philadelphia jobs. I hope that it will help someone who is loking in that area.

Keep it safe this season people, the emergency rooms do not need any more patients.

Okay, I’ve thought about it

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Yes, I did think about it. People wonder why the Mayan calendar ended at 2012.

Just how many years ago did they create this thing? How many hundreds of years, how many decades? Why should they have worried about so many years anyway? I mean they knew that they would not be alive at that time, maybe they thought that the people then would be able to figure it out all by them selves without anyone needing to do it for them.

Who knows. I am not a Mayan after all. :)

Would You Believe…

Friday, November 27th, 2009

There is another movie out. Another disaster, only this time supposedly the whole world will end.

Of course that means that life insurance would not necessarily be a bonus. However, who knows, if the world does not end and you do not survive, your family would benefit.

I often wonder where people get all of these idea about things ending. I sometimes think that they might be writing down their nightmares and then the nightmares become new movies. What do you think?

Losing It

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

Well, yesterday, he lost it. The catheter is finally out and he is better.

He will be having surgery in a week or three to fix the problem he has that has been causing all of the problems. At first it was an infection, then it was kidney stones (it would have been nice if it was loose diamonds, they can be sold to pay bills), then we find out it is guy problems. OY VEY

Well, hopefully in a month it will be taken care of and he won’t have all of the trouble anymore. I am looking forward to it now. We took a nap and were able to hang onto each other again. Of course it will be a while until we catch up on all of the sleep we lost.

You know…

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

Through all that has been going on, my husband has been wanting to ride his motorcycle. It isn’t running, but he wants to ride it.

The idea of riding with the contraption that he had right now is of course impossible. At least I know that he won’t need a Oakland motorcycle accident lawyer while his bike AIN’T running.

Of course he is very frustrated about that fact, even though he cannot do anything about it right now. I am not sure which is more frustrating to him. That it is not running, or that he can’t ride it. I have seen him get a ’sad puppy’ look on his face when he talks about it. If you have ever seen a 6 foot tall man pout, you know what I mean. :)

Almost over

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Yes, my husband on his ordeal is almost over. The doctor is supposed to remove the catheter on Wednesday. I sure hope that it is removed. Thanksgiving will not be the same anyway.

He has been told by others who have had one of those things that he might find out about some side effects after the removal. I guess now is not the time to think about checking into orlando vacations. He will not feel like going anywhere, or doing anything.

I know that he and I both will be happy about its removal. He keeps waking himself up at night when he tries to turn over in bed and hang on to me. We are used to cuddling hen we sleep. I miss that greatly. He told me that he does miss it, too.

I have no idea what will be done next. I guess that is up to the urologist.

Well, there is something new

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Yup, there is something new in our neighborhood.

My husband is finding out the the no joy of some of the practices of the urology department. At least they do not go to cattle supplies for their products that they use.

I used to work in a nursing home and saw a lot of different things that would be used on people. Catheters seem to be one of those things that also double as torture devices. I realize that they are sometimes neccessary, I just wish that they were designed to be more sensitive to those who have sensitive areas. I am not sure how they could be redesigned to be more comfortable, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t wish it was possible.
