What is it?

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Welcome back!

It seems like everywhere I turn I hear about bluray.

What is it? What does it do? How does it work.

I must be left out of the loop because I only have regular DVD. I still use VHS tapes and watch them, too. I’ve heard that bluray is supposed to be better, but I do not have the machine to find out. Maybe someone will get me one for Christmas. Of course, then I’ll have to get some of those discs to put in and watch, too. Our video collection right now mubers in the hundreds. One of our friends said that we could supply a video store. Maybe a small one. At least we do not have to worry about having things on TV that we do not want to watch. :)

He’s better

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

My husband is better. He isn’t throwing up a lot right now.

I thought about all of the antibiotics that he’d been taking, and remembered that thay can mess up your digestion. At first, I was thinking that he was allergic to something new and I thought about getting some new air filters for the apartment.

Now that I remembered about how the stomach can be sensitive to too many medicines, I got him some yogurt to eat. So far, it seems to be working and he is definitely feeling better.

That is a relief. :)

Well, here we go again

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

My husband is sick again. He keeps throwing up and neither one of us knows why. He does not have a temperature, or a cough. We know it isn’t the flu. As for the H1N1, we both went through that nightmare earlier in the year.

He has been on a lot of antibiotics lately. I hope that this stuff goes away soon.

Life Styles of the Poor and Shameless

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

I’m still around. Kind of like a pimple on the tip of your nose that seems to glow red.

Yup, that kind of obvious. Now I know that there are acne treatment for pimples, but I do not think there are those things for (AHEM) opinionated-fat-broads. That is how I can describe myself.

I also have a very relaxed way of dressing. I mean that as long as no one runs away screaming, I’m cool with it. I have also always thought that if no one screams, and I do not get arrested, it is a good day. Haute couture is obviously not my style. :)

Pimples in the past

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Everyone has their own stories about their times with acne and all of the different types of acne treatment that can be found.

I am 55 and no longer have those things happening to me. I do not know if it is all connected to your hormones, what you eat, or what your skin type is. All that know is that i no longer have those things happening.

At least now, you have more choices for treating acne than just rubbing alcohol. Believe it or not, people used to use whiskey, vodka, and other alcoholic beverages to treat pimples. Having acne is bad enough without going around smelling like a distillery.

Why ?

Friday, November 6th, 2009

While the house was being cleaned, people were being killed.

We live only 30 minutes away from Fort Hood.

I called the husband of the lady who did the house cleaning. He told us to turn on the TV, that there had been a serious shooting at Fort Hood.

Why? There is no reason for doing something that horrible. I feel for the family members of anyone involved. Our neighbor has a son who works out there working on housing. He called his dad later and let him know that he was okay. There are a lot of people who got another type of call later that day.

I do not understand how anyone could do something like that. There is no reason for it.

Housecleaning - UG

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Well, it has become that time of year again.

We have been cleaning house for the semi-annual inspection. I HATE, yes I mean HATE to clean house. At the present time, we do not have a steam cleaner. Of course, a Ladybug steam cleaner would give me something nice to look at when I have to eventually do this distasteful deed.

One of the things that happened when the cleaning was being done was that I fell right on my rump. All that I could do was to sit there and wonder what happened? The last I knew I was picking something up. I leaned over from the office chair that I was sitting on and then went to lean back and sit BACK down, the chair however had other ideas. It moved on me. Let’s just say that I was very startled. I didn’t go down hard, but I was definitely surprised. One of thewonderful ladies from our church was there and was doing most of the work. She asked me if I was okay, I said yes, and then I purst out laughing. She looked at me as if I had lost it. Maybe i did, but the whole thing was really funny. I went down in slo-mo of all things. No pain was involved, just a severe loss of dignity. After a moment, she joined me in the laughing. It was truly a surprise. Of course getting back up was no simple stunt, but I got it done.

Had a look around while down there, and got some very strange looks from one of our cats. Now that cat did look at me as if I had really lost it which made me laugh harder. Oh well, it was funny. :)

Did I mention…

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Did I mention that we had been going to a lot of places? Of course I did. What else have we been doing lately.

Driving, eating, griping, driving, avoiding the other people on the road. Maybe I should look at some diet pill reviews for my car. That way I should be able to avoid the crazies that are out on the road. I couldn’t believe the things that the other drivers were doing. At least the professional drivers - you know, the ones in the big semis that people like to complain about - seemed to want to drive with their attention on the road and not on what they were drinking, or reading, or hearing on their phone.

Sometimes I wonder why they put up with the other drivers.

Hungry again

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Did I mention that we had been traveling a lot lately?

One thing that I haven’t figured out how to control is my appetite. Driving does seem to create an appetite in me. A good appetite suppressant would help.

This day we munched on chicken strips, pimento cheese sandwich, ham sanwish, potato wedges. That was nice and tasty. Got home, slept (we were rather tired after all), now got up and want something to eat. What else is new? :)

Around and around

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Do you walk to lose weight? I can’t but that is another story.

I always wondered what a person did if they lived in a dangerous neighborhood. Well, one thing that can be done is to use treadmills to walk on.

I know that the pathway on the treadmill will go around and around, but at least you do not have to worry about getting mugged. Another thing that you don’t have to worry aobut is getting run over by one of the dufuses that are on the road these days who do not pay attention to those around them or to road conditions.

Can you tell that I am really bothered by some of the other drivers on the road? YUP.
