Raining

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Welcome back!

It is raining right now., The lightning was oing on earlier so had to turn everything off. No fun.

Went out and got soggy. At least I didn’t ge the carpet soggy when I came it. If it was tile flooring, it would be easier to clean up, but this apartment has carpeting right near the front door.

some of the apartments are without power right now. The electric company is circling the block trying to figure out where the interruption is so they can fix it. Meanwhile, people are not happy. We are one of the few that have not lost power this time. That’s cool, except for the fact that we had to turn everything off because of the lightning. Oh well, at least we are dry.

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

I’ve been running around a lot. My husband seeing the doctor, my brother seeing the doctor, my mom…..

I figure that you get it.

Thinking

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

I’ve been thinking.

Tomorrow I will be 56 years old. Whoopee…well, I never thought that I would live this long. In fact, I never thought about it much at all. Isn’t it amazing how time can sneak up on you?

Now what?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Well, as I had mentioned in my previous article, there have been some things going on.

Now, We find out when a policeman comes to the door that the American Legion across the street from us was broken into the other night. I begin to think that we might need some security cameras to watch the neighborhood. Not only was the Legion building broken into, but the water department for our city was also broken into. The officer was trying to find out if anyone had seen anything when this happened. We were one of the first to have him visit since we live so close to where it happened.

The park down the road from us has its own troubles, too. There are hookers and drug dealers, or horny males hanging out there a lot. So much for the kids being able to play without any trouble.

No Fun at all

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

We have been going through so much junk lately that it is trying to take all of our fun away.

First my husband is having pain and other stuff going on. Our vehicle had, yes, had been having trouble with a very bad leak in its gas line, and now our neighbor. He is getting a divorce from the druggie from hell, our other neighbor is a gossip and has been bugging the first poor man a lot.

Oy vey……I though that Payton Place was off the TV. Well, it seems like if it isn’t one thing it is another.

What is it that used to been done when you wanted to say something naughty and didn’t want to actually use the language? Oh yeah…=n09426p] ; a^&%()^&^

‘Nuf said.

Did I mention Eczema?

Monday, January 18th, 2010

I mentioned acne, zits, pimples, and other things. Now I am mentioning eczema.

Can you imagine eczema pictures put up on a billboard instead of smiling happy pictures? They would make quite a statement, but I wouldn’t want to be the one who has them. People who have this stuff go through a lot of trials and troubles trying to get rid of it.

I never was afflicted with it, so I have no idea what can happen to those who do have it. I have seen ads on the TV about other types of skin problems. Some of them are serious, some easily taken care of. Either way, I missed going through those things in my childhood and in my teenage years.

Lately, I have been having trouble with dandruff. Of course I also have touble with dry skin. However, that is another topic isn’t it?

Acne

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Acne can be a total pain on the skin. I used to know people at high school that had lots of trouble with their acne.

That was so long ago that I will not mention when it happened. It happened in St.Louis, Mo. The air there was very humid at times and my friends were in misery at the time. Sweating, and acne do not go together very well. We did not have tretinoin, acne doctors, or any of the famous things for acne that are available today. In fact one thing I read about being used as a treatment back before 1900 was whiskey. Imagine walking around in society smelling like a distillery. EW At least now the ointments that are available for use today have good scents and aromas.

Health Care

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Yes, out there are jobs. How do people find them? I don’t know right now.

I know that jobs in healthcare are really important. My husband spent some time in the hospital not too long ago. There were nurses on duty, there were others who also did some of the duties, but there were not enough.

I was there to help get my husband what he needed that did not require a registered nurse, or a technician. Not everyone has someone who can spend the time in each room for help them.

When I had worked as a nurses aide about 20 years ago, there were never enough people available to do the job. That fact has not changed much in the years that have gone past. Aides do the things that nurses are too busy to do. Nurses, aides, technicians, lab workers - all of those positions need to be filled, but there is a lack of personnel to fill those positions.

Work

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

Many out in the world at this time are looking for work. There are jobs out there, I just have no idea where they are and what they are.

I do not even know if I would be able to get a job now. I have gained a lot of weight since I last worked. I would probable need a top rated fat burner to help me lose weight.

I do have experience in many different types of jobs though. Restaurant, nursing home, factory, machine shop, fast food, print shop, office work……..the list goes on. I have no idea though if my services would be wanted.

Hemorrhoids

Friday, January 15th, 2010

I know that this is a subject that is rarely talked about. My husband has trouble with these things, so does his mom.

I have been blessed to avoid them. Some people will want to get surgery, other will try natural hemorrhoid treatments, other will go for medical treatment that does not include the surgery option.

I have no idea what it is like to experience them. I hope that I never do. I have known others who were severely bothered and those people went through some serious bother. Whatever each person experiences, it is up to them to determine what they will do, and how they will do it.
