Did I mention Eczema?

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Welcome back!

I mentioned acne, zits, pimples, and other things. Now I am mentioning eczema.

Can you imagine eczema pictures put up on a billboard instead of smiling happy pictures? They would make quite a statement, but I wouldn’t want to be the one who has them. People who have this stuff go through a lot of trials and troubles trying to get rid of it.

I never was afflicted with it, so I have no idea what can happen to those who do have it. I have seen ads on the TV about other types of skin problems. Some of them are serious, some easily taken care of. Either way, I missed going through those things in my childhood and in my teenage years.

Lately, I have been having trouble with dandruff. Of course I also have touble with dry skin. However, that is another topic isn’t it?

Acne

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Acne can be a total pain on the skin. I used to know people at high school that had lots of trouble with their acne.

That was so long ago that I will not mention when it happened. It happened in St.Louis, Mo. The air there was very humid at times and my friends were in misery at the time. Sweating, and acne do not go together very well. We did not have tretinoin, acne doctors, or any of the famous things for acne that are available today. In fact one thing I read about being used as a treatment back before 1900 was whiskey. Imagine walking around in society smelling like a distillery. EW At least now the ointments that are available for use today have good scents and aromas.

Health Care

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Yes, out there are jobs. How do people find them? I don’t know right now.

I know that jobs in healthcare are really important. My husband spent some time in the hospital not too long ago. There were nurses on duty, there were others who also did some of the duties, but there were not enough.

I was there to help get my husband what he needed that did not require a registered nurse, or a technician. Not everyone has someone who can spend the time in each room for help them.

When I had worked as a nurses aide about 20 years ago, there were never enough people available to do the job. That fact has not changed much in the years that have gone past. Aides do the things that nurses are too busy to do. Nurses, aides, technicians, lab workers - all of those positions need to be filled, but there is a lack of personnel to fill those positions.
