Skin

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Welcome back!

My skin tone is okay, so far.

I know of some people who have trouble with oily skin, eczema, and other stuff. What the eczema causes are, I have no idea.

I figure that the doctors should know the best medications for getting rid of it. I have never had to go to a dermatologist. My husband has an appointment with one coming up. He has a sore on his arm that he got when messing with his motorcycle as it blew some gaskets. It sometimes opens and bleeds. His regular doctor has tried to freeze it to get it to dry up, but that hasn’t yet worked. So in the near future, he will find out what a visit to the dermatologist is like. I hope that the diabetes he has isn’t the cause of that sore not healing.

Also in Church

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

A young lady in our church is expecting her first baby.

She loves the Lord, has family supporting her, but she is scared. I do not know if she is taking prenatal vitamins or not. I hope that she is.

Her name is Mindy. She also could use your prayers. We all want her to stay healthy, and finally have a healthy baby. We do not yet know if the baby will be a boy or a girl. Either way, that baby will be welcomed into the church with a lot of love.

Our church loves babies. The youngest member of our congregation is called Arissa. She is usually passed around from one lap to another and cuddled everywhere she goes.

Medical

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

This is a request for prayer from any one who believes and prays.

Becky Ballard, the wife of our pastor is in the hospital. The hospital has said that she has had 2 heart attacks. She is loved greatly and we do not want to lose her.

Her husband Milton is fighting his own fight with COPD.

Please pray for both of them.

Our planet has acne

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Yes, I did say that our planet has acne.

If you get too much oil on your face, sometimes you get acne. Well with the oil spill out in the Gulf of Mexico, we have too much oil on the surface of our planet. Therefore - acne. Right? Maybe? Maybe acne treatments reviews might help people, but I don’t think it will help in this instance.

I am just wondering how this mess will ever be cleaned up, or if it will be cleaned up. It’s bad enough that all of the oil is being wasted, but the damage that it is doing at the same time is just horrible. The lives being lost in the actual explosion, the wildlife that is being lost, the damage being done to the living of fishermen on the coast, the damage to the environment……

Is there a final answer to this mess?

I hate to think what the final answer might be.

I wonder about my bones

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I do wonder about my bones. I am over weight, and have had a broken bone or two in my life.

Of course I didn’t know about it at the time, found out later that they had been broken. I need some diet pills that really work. I need to lose weight even without any exercise.

I have yet to hear about those pills. All of the pills that I’ve heard about also mention exercise. It’s not that I think it is a dirty word, I just am unable to do the exercise. Right now as I sit here typing, my ankle is wrapped and I have been limping. I wish that I had taken 2 canes with me to the hospital with mom today.

What works

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

What works for broken bones?

I know that in the old days, comfrey would be one of the herbs that people would suggest using. These days, every where I look I see tea tree oil, green tea with tea tree, tree tea in almost everything.

Mom doesn’t like green tea. I wonder if she would like something with tea tree oil in it? She has osteoporosis of the bones, kidney trouble, and other stuff going on at the same time. I wonder if there is something that she can take that wouldn’t hurt her kidneys. I’ve tried to get her to slow down on the regular tea, but she says she only drinks one bottle a day. I wonder.

All Day

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

We have just spent practically all day at the local hospital emergency room.

We found out that it is official that mom broke one of her ribs when she fell on the 23 rd of last month.

The doctor said that there is little to do except to keep an eye on her and make sure that she does not get too enthusiastic with any movement on that particular side. Evidently broken ribs are mostly not bound any more since it limits the person’s breathing and they might get pneumonia. Since she is in her late 70’s, that would be particularly bad.

Tylenol and naps are the best for right now.

Diets, diets, and more diets

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

It seems that everywhere that I look, these days, I find diets.

Diets are mentioned on TV, magazines, the internet, and a lot of other places. Even lipozene reviews, can be found.

Just today one of the diets has found itself in trouble with health problems being the main trouble. Any time that you go on a diet, you should use common sense and not go to extremes. I would love to find a pill that would help me to lose weight without any exercise because of the Arthritis that bugs me. I now have a new pain pill, it helps, but I am sleepy all the time.

So, remember go on a diet, but check it out first.

Stinky Water

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Right now our tap water STINKS !

It makes me want to use a garden pond filter, or something stronger to get the water tasting better. My husband needs to use bottled, or filtered water in order to drink plain water.

I tested our tap water one day and found that it is VERY hard water with a lot of minerals in it. Now, add the stink, and people can tell why I like to drink a lot of bottled diet sodas instead of water.

If you go to Belton, Texas, bring your own water right now. Usually it does not have an odor, but oh my aching nose. I can understand why our cats do not want to drink water at this time.
