Outrageous

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Welcome back!

I am seriously outraged.

A woman, who knew that she was legally blind, decided to go shopping. She had her two daughters in the car with her. Oh, by the way, she also has never had a driver’s license. She decided to leave the mall, drove out into the intersection and killed a man who was on a bike run with other bikers.

She told the police officer that she didn’t see him. She hemmed and hawed about whether or not she could actually tell if the light was in her favor. She also told the office that she was legally blind.

When she went to court for this, she tried to get a lower sentence and get the court to feel sorry for her since she couldn’t see very well. The judge threw out her appeal and sent her to full trial. The jury found her guilty of manslaughter. Now, her family is trying to say that she did not get a fair trial since she is black.

I wonder just how fair the trial was for the man she killed when she broke the law and got behind the wheel of the car she was driving? Her family has offered no sorrow for the man killed, or for his family.

Put it in video

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

I have seen our cats in action so many times that I would dearly love to be able to put it in video and then post it on-line.

I don’t have a camcorder, though. I guess that I would need to check out some camcorder reviews to get an idea just what would work for me. I have a digital camera, but it only takes still pictures. If I had enough skill on the computer, I could take a lot of pictures and then turn them all into a video. The only trouble with that is that the cats do not stand still when they are playing, climbing, and bouncing up into the air. A still camera just could not do their play any justice. :)

Health Care

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Health care these days is something that a lot of people are talking about. I realize that here in Texas where we live, Scott & White hospital has some plans that do help people. I have no idea about health insurance in nc.

Each state has its own regulations about how the plans will or will not cover you. I know that when my sister was still alive in Arkansas, those plans weren’t very good. It could be so much worse for us if we did not have the type of medical availability around that we need.

What will happen with the proposed new health care regulations - I have no idea.
