Well, here goes

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Welcome back!

We have restarted a motorcycle ministry. It is called EL SHADDAI’S WARRIORS.

We were checking out what the cost would be for patches to wear on our vests. I felt like we were looking for colon cleanse reviews. It seemed to take days to find out what we needed to know.

We finally got a quote on the price for the development of the artwork, and the cost to make the patches. $1040.00

Since my husband only gets 1200 a month, it will take a while to get the money saved up for these things.

Jewelry

I like jewelry. BLING

Reminds me of the sound of an old fashioned cash register opening - Bling, ring. Whatever. Any way, I like jewelry. Some of what is offered is too jazzed up for me and some is just too expensive. Then there are the pieces of jewelry that are down right gorgeous. Think about it, heart pendant jewelry, crosses, necklaces, bracelets, even ankle chains. All of it bling.

I must sound like a magpie, after all they too like bling things. Bright, shiny, pretty things to put in the nest and look at. :)

Special Places

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

When was the last time that you went to a special place? I mean one where it is different from the ‘usual’ types of places to stay.

It would be nice to find unique hotels to stay at for vacations. If your neighbors get to be a pain in the tucus, and you do not want to move, it would be nice to have a fun place to get away from the humdrum of everyday life. Of course with us, we have good neighbors. Our home (apt) is comfy (a mess), and it has everything that we like to do hobbies with and of course books and videos - the list goes on.

Let’s face it, there are worse things in life than being comfortable at home. At least we do have hobbies, videos, books, yada, yada, yada.

It Is Done

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

Remember the sign? Well, it is done.

It only took around a week for it to get done, and I must admit that I had fun doing it. Soon, it will be put up where others can see it.

This opportunity to have fun and do something for our little church was fun. Sometimes it can be amazing what different uses can be put to wood, paint, and a little time.

It’s a sign

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Yes, it is a sign. I am not getting all strange here.

I am making a sign for our church. I am having fun. I was able to take the information that was needed, lay out the arrangement of the information. Then I have drawn it on the wooden board.

I got ahead of myself. First I figured out what size to make it. Then when I presented with the board, I painted it white (several times in order to seal it from the weather). After that I laid out the information, talked to our pastor, drew it on the painted board and then started to pain in the words.

It will look great when it is totally finished, and I am having a blast doing this. :)

Furniture

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

My house is full. I have book cases, tables, sofas, chairs, tv stands, entertainments center, computers. I have furniture.

What I need is probably storage or a bigger place to live. I have the feeling that I would end up with even more stuff, though. I guess that I need to learn how to eliminate the unnecessary junk that I have. The furniture that i have works for me and for my husband. The main problem that we have is that we are involved with a lot of different types of hobbies. Different types of arts & crafts, and all of the stuff that goes with it. Maybe we could use more storage cabinets with shelves and drawers. Not sure, maybe we should just try to clean house a little better. I hate cleaning. Shopping is fun. The only trouble with that is spending money, and getting more stuff that needs to be stored and not enough of the right type of furniture to store it in. :)

Christmas Cards

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Did you send out a lot of Christmas cards? If you do, did you use a custom rubber stamp? It would have saved you the need to sign each one, or to put on a return address sticker.

I cheated. Yup, I call it cheating. I called a lot of the people that I care about. Our phone has a lot of minutes on it and we do not have to pay for toll calls. It was nice to hear each person talking, it seemed to me to be more personal than just a piece of paper that could be sent. When I was young (I won’t tell you how long ago that was, ahem.) I would try to make individual cards to those that I wanted to send a card to. These days there is also e-mail that can be sent out to people. Most of the people that I know do have a computer, not always hooked up to the internet, but still a computer. E-mail does not seem so personal. After all I do like to talk. If you have read some of my blogging articles, it is rather obvious.

Now What?

Sunday, December 14th, 2008

Maybe I am getting older. I am not able to lose weight very easily. I sometimes eat things that give me diarrhea, and gas. Those things are supposed to be good for me and to help to lose weight, you know lots of veggies do that, At least I do enjoy veggies. I ache all the time from Arthritis, if I have a day without any pain at all, it is very rare. That does get tiring.

Don’t worry, I am too stubborn and pigheaded to give up.

I have had people suggest that I use chop sticks to eat with. The only trouble is that I love chop sticks and can eat faster with them, than with a fork. I have several sets of chop sticks that I use at different times. I also save them when we actually have the money to eat out, take them home and use them in arts and crafts projects. (They make neat crosses.)

There is something that I wonder about, though. There are a lot of diet pills on the market, what is with the names? Leptorexin, Fenfedra, yada, yada, yada. How do they think up those names, why can’t they make them easier to remember or pronounce? Well, any way; my main trouble is that I like food. Most of the people that I know do also. After all what would be the point in making food that doesn’t taste good? I know that not everyone has the option to be picky about what they eat or if they eat, so I shouldn’t complain. I wish that dieting was easier. :)

Projects - Arts & Crafts

Friday, November 21st, 2008

I love to do arts and crafts of many different types. I have created beaded bracelets, dream catchers (only cause I think they look neat), afghans, toboggans, necklaces, shirts, skirts, quilts, and other assorted folderol, too.

The reason why I am bringing this up is because Scott & White Hospital which is near by in Temple, Texas, is also a cancer hospital. A while past I crocheted some toboggans ( aka ski hats) and donated them for the people going through chemotherapy. Chemo will take away that person’s strength, and make them susceptible to getting easily chilled. Well, people going through Dialysis also have that problem.

The costs of those life saving treatments can be very prohibitive to a person’s wallet. It might not be much, but little things can also give someone heart to keep trying and fighting their illness. If you like to make things and then wonder what to do with them, giving to help someone else might add to your enjoyment.

Decorations

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

How do you decorate for the holidays? Do you go all out and get a lot of stuff from the store? Or, do you get craft supplies and make your own?

I am afraid that I do the latter type of decoration. At least that way I can change it each year and it is not the same. Sometimes I leave part of the decoration up for more that just a month, especially if it can be used by itself. Some people do body jewelry, others do house jewelry, some do interior jewelry. After all when you decorate, you are adding things to improve the appearance just like when people put on jewelry.

My Christmas lights stay up all year round. Here in Texas, people also use lights and fireworks for more than just one holiday. Since I love to add decorations, that makes Texas the ideal state for me to live in so I can have a lot of fun. :)
