After Christmas

Monday, December 26th, 2011

Welcome back!

I realize that after Christmas, many people are at the store returning, or exchanging what they ha gotten as presents.

One way to avoid that is to get something special. Getting personalized gifts for her, or for him helps. If you know the types of things that someone wants, or something very specific, it does save a lot of hassle.

I am fortunate in that my tastes are simple and I like almost every thing that I have ever received. In fact I remember one Christmas I received blocks of plain paper, crayons, tape, scissors, and lots of coloring pencils. I had a ball. :)

Decorations - beads

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

When making decorations, there are a lot of different types of beads that can be used.

I, myself, make jewelry sometimes and use many types that are a mixture of glass, metal, wood, and ceramic.

Of course if I could afford Swarovski Crystal beads, that would make a wonderful difference in the type of jewelry. I have seen little figurines that were made of crystal and they were magnificent. All that I can say is have fun. That, after all, is the point of doing crafts. Why do it if it isn’t fun? :)

Family History

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Because of the loss of my husband’s mom, we have inherited some of the family rings.

It has made me think about how jewelry changes over the years. Yes, there are still the regulation gold bands, even though they do have a little bit of difference in them, too.

Now rings can be made of different types of material. Not just gold any more. There are artcarved wedding bands, hand made rings, factory made rings, imported rings. The list could go on. Have you ever thought about the history of the family jewelry that you have?

August almost over

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

It is getting close to the end of August, I am looking forward to cooler air and other things.

Some might be looking forward to the end of October and indoor halloween décor. I am just looking for cooler air. Of course, I also look forward to Thanksgiving and family gatherings.

At least with the cleaning that we are in the middle of doing, our house (apartment) will be able to receive guests.

I really hate cleaning, even though it is necessary. :/

Setting up

Sunday, December 19th, 2010

We have been setting up our church, and have been having a lot of fun.

We have added wall hangings, kitchen utensils, table, chairs, counters, and more.

What we will add next, I have no idea. It is something to look forward to seeing, though. :)

Oh, I like it !

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

Now that I think about it, the most glittery holiday of them all is getting closer.

The holiday that I love the most is Christmas. I get to see lots of outdoor Christmas decorations, lights everywhere, holiday music.

There are times that I feel like a kid when this holiday comes. I feel very thankful for what was given to everyone on that particular day. I also enjoy all of the decorations that go along with it. My husband used to wonder each year just what I would do to decorate our home for Christmas. We still have pictures. Our outdoor front porch still has lights on it that I hook up each year, but since we have cats in the house, I can’t put stuff up since the cats would get into it.

In fact, one cat we had tried to climb the artificial Christmas tree and broke a branch. Every time that he went near that tree, he would hiss. Hilarious ! :)

I wanted to have a regular tree that could be planted afterward, but my husband is allergic to those trees. I still love that holiday and its decorations.

I Remember

Friday, October 29th, 2010

I remember the day that I got married. I also remember that for one of our anniversaries we did not have a whole lot of money, and my husband wanted to get me some roses. He drew them and left the card on the dining room table for me to find.

I realize that for the 3rd year anniversary gifts there might not be a lot of choices available, but I remember the card that he did for me.

If we were to celebrate our anniversary again with anniversary gifts by year, that card, or another one would be appreciated again. Of course, now there are such things as leather roses. They will not wilt, or rot and have to be thrown away. It would be wonderful…

just think, a beautiful flower arrangement sitting on the entertainment center for everyone to appreciate…..especially me. The idea that my husband could send me something that i like, and that is connected to motorcycles at the same time. :)

Can’t believe it

Saturday, October 9th, 2010

I can’t believe it that it is October again already.

I remember when my mom would talk about how time always seemed to fly. I thought she was nuts. Guess what, it is happening to me. It is October, halloween costumes are on sale, the candy of course is also on the shelf.

I do not know where the time has gone.

Do you remember the Mellow cream candies that would have pumpkins, bats, bananas, candy corn and other things in it? Where has it gone? I can’t seem to find it anymore.

Well, here goes

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

We have restarted a motorcycle ministry. It is called EL SHADDAI’S WARRIORS.

We were checking out what the cost would be for patches to wear on our vests. I felt like we were looking for colon cleanse reviews. It seemed to take days to find out what we needed to know.

We finally got a quote on the price for the development of the artwork, and the cost to make the patches. $1040.00

Since my husband only gets 1200 a month, it will take a while to get the money saved up for these things.

Jewelry

Monday, July 27th, 2009

I like jewelry. BLING

Reminds me of the sound of an old fashioned cash register opening - Bling, ring. Whatever. Any way, I like jewelry. Some of what is offered is too jazzed up for me and some is just too expensive. Then there are the pieces of jewelry that are down right gorgeous. Think about it, heart pendant jewelry, crosses, necklaces, bracelets, even ankle chains. All of it bling.

I must sound like a magpie, after all they too like bling things. Bright, shiny, pretty things to put in the nest and look at. :)
