You know…

Welcome back!

Through all that has been going on, my husband has been wanting to ride his motorcycle. It isn’t running, but he wants to ride it.

The idea of riding with the contraption that he had right now is of course impossible. At least I know that he won’t need a Oakland motorcycle accident lawyer while his bike AIN’T running.

Of course he is very frustrated about that fact, even though he cannot do anything about it right now. I am not sure which is more frustrating to him. That it is not running, or that he can’t ride it. I have seen him get a ’sad puppy’ look on his face when he talks about it. If you have ever seen a 6 foot tall man pout, you know what I mean. :)

Traveling

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Okay, remembe4 when I mentioned doing a lot of running around?

We are still traveling. It would count as local, however, I am still tired. If I could I would have some auto accessories that would give me a place to rest my feet on something soft, my rump on something even softer, and my head on something that would keep my neck from getting stiff.

Oh yeah, that is called having a chauffeur isn’t it? Where do you get one of those when your monry is limited and you drive an older model van? My husband spent the time sleeping. He only likes to drive motorcycles.

That is another story.

He has a bike

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

My husband has been trying to get a motorcycle for a long time, since he needed to sell his previous one.

Well, he now has a different bike. It is a Honda 500 Shadow. We need to get a battery for it and some other things. At least we do not need custom headlights like his previous one had.

That bike was a swap-meet special. It had a combination of Harley parts, Triumph parts, Yamaha parts, and other assorted stuff. It was 9′2″ long. When he would drive it, he had to steer it like a car instead of being able to just lean and turn corners. It did draw a crowd when he rode it. Now we get to start again with customizing a bike for he use and his likes. :)

Basket Case

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Believe it or not, I’m not talking about myself here.

My husband has been given a bunch of motorcycle parts: engines, frames, pistons, electrical wiring, and other items. When he finally gets it sorted out, and starts to work on the parts to make a running bike, it will be called a ‘basket case’ motorcycle.

His has talked about swap meet specials; where bikers will swap out parts they don’t need for parts they do need. I had to ask him what he was talking about. Then he talked about basket cases, where the bike is broken down to its basic parts and has to be reassembled. When he is done, he will know his bike very closely from the inside-out. He won’t have to worry about having bought a used bike that might have problems, because any problems will have been taken care of just by assembling the new bike. His adopted brother helped to put these items into a new storage unit that we got. It took two trips with our station wagon to get all of these things in one location.

He wants to make the new bike a chopper. He and another friend had done this before. He ended up with a bike that was over 8 foot long. The front end was stretched way out in front. That was called the ‘rake’ of the bike. All of this means that I am learning a new language. I haven’t even gotten English down pat, I still make bloopers. Oh well, in this world, slang is a new language almost every other day anyhow.
