Tired out

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Welcome back!

The running is catching up with me.

It is hard to think. I need some discount diet pills…no some energy pills. Vitamins, a shot, SLEEP that’s it!

I need some sleep. My eyes are getting very heavy. My mind is getting very foggy. No, wait a minute that’s the weather. As for the line - my eyes are getting heavy - I think that I’ve heard that line before, when the hypnotist was trying to get the person hypnotized.

Ha, I am not hypnotizzzzzzzzzzz………………….

Lose Weight? Sweat it out!

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

If you are in the mood to lose weight, the summer weather should make it easy.

SWEAT IT OUT!

I wish that it was so easy. Or that you could put part of your (my) anatomy out in the rain and it would melt off. That would beat the latest fat burners. It is not so easy as that, unfortunately. It seems that it must be done the ‘old fashioned’ way. I have tried to cut back on what I eat. Most times I only eat one meal a day.

I look in the mirror and do not see much change. At least I do not increase right now. I am too busy sweating to do that.

Diets, diets, and more diets

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

It seems that everywhere that I look, these days, I find diets.

Diets are mentioned on TV, magazines, the internet, and a lot of other places. Even lipozene reviews, can be found.

Just today one of the diets has found itself in trouble with health problems being the main trouble. Any time that you go on a diet, you should use common sense and not go to extremes. I would love to find a pill that would help me to lose weight without any exercise because of the Arthritis that bugs me. I now have a new pain pill, it helps, but I am sleepy all the time.

So, remember go on a diet, but check it out first.

He’s lost weight

Tuesday, April 20th, 2010

I have good news.

My husband has managed to lose weight. Since he does have some heart trouble, and Diabetes, this is great news. He had gotten as high as 340lbs which is very bad. He is now down less than 300.

I just wish that I could lose some weight like that. My bones could use the rest. He didn’t take any diet pills, nuphedragen, ephedrine, or any of the others. I don’t know if I will need to take something. I am not able to exercise. That however, is another story, and another article.

Back to the regular

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Back to the regular things of life.

Getting older, watching the world do its thing, Thinking about diets and phentermine. I like food too much.

Of course the name on this blog does give a hint to that doesn’t it? Why do diets have to be so hard/ Exercise is not possible for everyone. Some of the cheapest food on the market happens to be high in starches and calories.

Why is it that most of the things that taste great, also fatten great? I guess that I have a lot of questions. I enjoy tomatoes, cabbage, olives and other things. I also like cheese, bread, pasta, hamburgers, and other things like them.

You can’t quit eating totally like some can quit smoking totally.

New Thing

Friday, March 19th, 2010

My brother-in-law, one of them, in Arkansas is trying to lose weight.

I have found a new thing to use for a weight loss program. Be so busy that you cannot remember if you have seen yourself coming or going. HA, got you with that one.

We have been running around so much that my feet automatically seem to search for the gas pedal, and my ‘rump’ can still feel the seat in the van, even though I am not in it right now.

I have to admit that a lot of central Texas has very pretty countryside. I just wish that we didn’t have to see so much of it in just one week. :)

Life goes on

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

We have heard the old phrase - life goes on. It is so true.

We have bills that have come in, neighbors that visit, people who call. All sort os things happen. Solo Slim stopped by and wanted to talk.

Gossip is something that happens all of the time, unfortunately. After hearing some complaints, I finally got his to move on to the next person he wanted to talk to. At least most of our neighbors do not do this to us, but I have heard of others who get visits and learn about the goings on here.

Getting Slim

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

I know that I just mentioned the Olympics.

Those athletes have to be in very good condition in order to take part in their chosen competition. I bet they don’t have to look for any type of fat burner to get in shape.

Of course they do not sit on their couch and watch TV either. All of the exercise they must do is something that I cannot imagine in any way shape or form. They do have my admiration for their self control over how they use their bodies. Me, I like food a little too much. Exercise…..not able to do that.

I just hope that no more people get hurt seriously, or not seriously. I realize that each contestant is standing in for their own country, I just hope that each country appreciates what these athletes are doing. It is something that I cannot do. I do enjoy watching a lot of what is being done. I like gymnastics, iceskating, and some other things. I just wish that I could do only a little bit myself.

So in another way, I do also envy them their abilities.

There They Go Again

Monday, February 15th, 2010

Yes, there they go again. I realize that it is also the name of a song, but it fits the situation.

The politicains on the TV are at it full time. Our state governor is trying to brag about what he has done while in office. I wish that he would get some weight loss supplements to shrink his inflated opinion of himself.

He is personable enough, he can be pleasant looking, he can be very charismatic. I still do not like him and what he has done. Of course that can be said about a lot of politicians can’t it? Opinions are out there, for everyone has them. This has been my opinion. :)

Notice that I didn’t give any name? I ain’t no dummy.

Egg Rolls

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

I do truly enjoy good egg rolls.

My favorite restaurant, however, uses a type of seasoning that I don’t like. So, I make some of my own egg rolls.

1 head of cabbage shredded finely
2 large cans of boneless chicken / or an equal amount of pork or shrimp that is:cooked, make sure that the meat is shredded for even distribution.
1 large can of oriental vegetables -chop finely also after draining
2 packages of egg roll wraps
soy sauce - lots of it
1 Tbsp of flour made into a loose paste to seal the wrappers

Gently saute the cabbage in a large frying pan, seasoning with soy sauce. When the cabbage is tender, add the vegetables, meat and stir.

Let the mixture cool. Lay out a cooking sheet, plastic mat, or something that will protect the counter from drippings.

On to each uncooked wrap, place approximately 2 tbsp of the mix. (The wrappers usually come with instructions on how to fold into egg rolls.) When it is almost completely rolled, use your finger and smear on some of the flour paste to seal and finish rolling. Place into a nearby pan to await being fried.

Heat a frying pan with oil/shortening until the oil/shortening is hot. There should be enough in the pan to mostly cover the egg roll. Fry each roll until it is golden brown all over. Drain, and serve.

The quantity that I told you about will make about 30 to 40 egg rolls. If you have wrappers left, they can be cut into strips and fried by themselves for chips to munch along with your egg rolls. YUM

Believe it or not, you can also make a mix using different types of cooked, seasoned fruit instead of the cabbage mix to be made into fruit rolls for desert. They can be dusted with powdered sugar for a finishing touch. STILL YUM :)

THIS IS NOT A DIET FOOD.
