Games 11

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Welcome back!

Yup, here I go writing about another on-line game.

I have a few favorites of course, but this is one of those that I keep going back to. It is called Yeti Bubbles. The sound effects are hilarious. The music, I usually turn off while I play away. Then I get hear the Yeti scratch his rump! (snicker) Okay, okay, I know that I am not 8 years old anymore, but I still have a wacky sense of humor. :P

Spirometer

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Yes, I did spell that correctly. The word spirometer stands for a medical device that is used for those with breathing problems like COPD. It somehow measures your breath and with associated tests the doctor can tell about what your lung power is like.

I have seen some of the things used for testing sleep apnea, even though I had no idea what the different things did. It is amazing what medical science can come up with to take care of humans. I saw an ad in the waiting room while mom waited for her doctor to see her. Some magazines had pictures, some recipes, some were nothing but words, but this one word caught my attention. I at first wondered if I was reading it correctly. I was, but I still do not quite understand what it was that I was reading about. Of course, I am not a doctor, just nosy after all. :)

Games 10

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Found another new game. WARNING, this game is very addictive.

It is sponsored by the web site Fupa.com. I have played this thing until my eyes go blurry.

I try to walk away and just cannot. Try it, but set the alarm to remind yourself to do something else. I forgot to eat, also. :)

Light bulbs

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Well, all that I can say is the light bulb in the living room finally gave up the ghost.

Of course the light in the bathroom had to go, too. The bathroom light fixtures that we have do not make it easy to replace any type of light bulb.

Of course that is especially true since we live in an apartment complex that is supposed to be for seniors and handicapped. You’d think that the designers would have thought about that from the first.

No one ever said that designers were logical though. Have you heard the expression - ERGONOMICALLY DESIGNED? Designed my foot. A woman’s size eleven foot might give some of those designers a better idea of what to do with some of the things that I’ve seen. Of course, that is another blog.

Transferring

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

I am not transferring to another country (in spite of Obamacare), or to another school (I have been out of school for decades).

I have been transferring information from one computer to another. Oh joy….NOT. I need a flash drive. At least that is what my brother-in-law who is a computer dude, says. He says that I can put all of the information onto the flash drive, and then zip it into my other computer and then go to town.

Where do I find one? :) (smiley face with hope)

Computers ARGH!

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

I have 2 computers.

They are scheming together to drive me nuts. Yes, they are!

One is running out of available memory, the other is refusing to send out any e-mails. Why? I have NO IDEA. They are driving me nuts.

When things get tough computer wise, I just remember…they were designed by human beings to drive other human beings crazy. :)

Yup, that’l do it for sure.

I’m bored

Friday, February 26th, 2010

I am bored.

Great news isn’t it? Well, I guess that we all get to that point at one time or another. We have an entertainment center with TV, VCR, tapes (yes tapes), DVD’s, and a lot of other stuff on it. I just wish that entertainment centers would also come with their own entertainment.

I really don’t feel like watching a movie. TV does not really suit me right now. Maybe a book to read would be nice. The books that I have in our home, I have already read. I guess that I could go to sleep and join the millions of others in dream land. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz - oops, see ya laters.

Heart Troubles

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

I have figured out why some of the tests were run on my husband.

He has heart trouble. He had a stent put in back in 2001. He has had heart attacks, and wears a nitroglycerin patch every day. If I had the money, I would purchase a device that could save his life, or someone’s else’s life.

It is called AED, or ARTIFICIAL EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR. They come in different sizes and with different costs. The link that I put in my article showed some that cost 1245$, and some that cost more. Those things are disigned that they can be used by someone who does not have any training at all, and they could be used to save a life.

Foul-ups Happen

Saturday, January 2nd, 2010

Sometimes I wonder if computers are instruments of torture.

Foul-ups happen….yeah right. Memory gets used and vanishes. I want a laptop that has enough memory and doesn’t crack my dining room table.

Is that too much to ask? This computer is great, but it has some problems. Its memory seems to be getting used and I have no idea what is using it up. Right now I am down to 3 gb, sometimes even less. GRRRRRRRRR

It could be worse. I don’t want to think about that. :P

Had an emergency

Monday, December 28th, 2009

We had an emergency tonight and I got some things on the blog messed up.

One of our very close neighbors got taken to the emergency room tonight. When they were done with him after some breathing treatments and shot and meds, he was released. Well, eleven at night is not the time to need a ride from one town to another.

I took off from the computer screen to get him and when I got back, I fouled up something that I was writing. Oh well………………..DELETE sure does come in handy sometimes. I guess that electronics can be more forgiving than paper at times. :)
