Okay, I’ve thought about it

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Welcome back!

Yes, I did think about it. People wonder why the Mayan calendar ended at 2012.

Just how many years ago did they create this thing? How many hundreds of years, how many decades? Why should they have worried about so many years anyway? I mean they knew that they would not be alive at that time, maybe they thought that the people then would be able to figure it out all by them selves without anyone needing to do it for them.

Who knows. I am not a Mayan after all. :)

Would You Believe…

Friday, November 27th, 2009

There is another movie out. Another disaster, only this time supposedly the whole world will end.

Of course that means that life insurance would not necessarily be a bonus. However, who knows, if the world does not end and you do not survive, your family would benefit.

I often wonder where people get all of these idea about things ending. I sometimes think that they might be writing down their nightmares and then the nightmares become new movies. What do you think?

Digital Television

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Ecerywhere we turn the tv , no matter which channel, we keep hearing how good that digital tv is and will be.

We’ve got an analog set, a converter box, and an amplified antenna. Everything is hooked up. We sat down to watch the set and saw a lot of funny looking pictures with weird sounds. It’s hard to watch tv when you can’t make out what is being said or what is happening. We had to keep changing the angle of the antenna all the time. I even tried to mark the position which seemed to help get the best reception, but it kept changing. We’re supposed to have 15 different stations but can only watch actively 3 or 4 of them. The rest keep breaking up. Without the box, we receive 5 stations clearly without any problems.

We’ve given it up for now. We use the fancy amplified antenna and watch our regular stations with no problem.

Is Digital REALLY supposed to be better? Can’t tell.

Open Eyes

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

Just watched a movie called “Meet John Doe”. About an ordinary man in an extraordinary situation. A world exists out there we don’t know. It is filled with people like us–just surviving.

There are things happening that we never hear about. The news programs don’t look for this because it isn’t sensational. I believe that ordinary people living is a sensation. We’re not fat cats living off of other people and what other people do. We are ordinary people living each day.

The news media treats us like we are invisible, like we don’t exist. If we truly didn’t exist, the media wouldn’t have jobs because we pay them; because they wouldn’t have jobs without us. Why should we be ignored? It is like we’re treated as if we are mushrooms. You know, kept in the dark and fed bu**s**t. Please fill in the blanks where the stars are. Why shouldn’t we count? Why should we be ignored? Why should only the oddballs, the weirdos, criminals, powerful, famous and rich count? When did being ordinary all of a sudden mean we should be ignored? Open your eyes and look around. We are being passed by because we aren’t sensational. That doesn’t mean we are unimportant! We count too.
