Arg !

Yes, I did write ARG ! Have you ever had a dream about something, and when you wake up, want to write it down? However, when you get pen and paper together, you can’t remember what it was? It is enough to make a grown woman growl. Of course, when that happens, my husband looks at me as if I’d lost my mind.

Maybe I have, sort of. After all I lost that dream, where I put my glasses, what I went in to the bed room for, or any number of other things. When did my memory start to go, or get so many holes in it? I think I’ve not completely lost my mind, have I?

Can’t remember. At least I know that my brain is still somewhere inside my skull. After all I am able to hold intelligent conversation. Don’t know if anyone else would agree with me, but there it is.

I do know some of the answers on the TV program Jeopardy. HA ! That’s proof, ain’t it? I haven’t lost everything, yet. :)

Games 6

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Do you want to go crazy? I have found a game that will definitely do that. When I was a little girl (yes, that description fit me at one time), there was a puzzle that you could hold in your hand and slide the different numbers around and try to get them in order. I used to spend hours doing that. It was a sort of Rubics cube that was flat.

It is simply called sliding block puzzle. I have been able to solve one version of the puzzle, but the other two drive me nuts. The one with a lot of blue blocks is not the one that does the crazy bits. If you like to go crazy once in a while, have fun. :)

Games 5

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

Here I go again. I am apparently hooked on games on the computer. This one called “Splash Back”, is amazingly good fun, if you like to make messes, play in the water and other things.

Making a mess, and not having to clean it up can be very therapeutic for your nerves, and it also helps me to think. Lately there has been a lot going on and this has given me a chance to relax and unwind. Sometimes, I find myself playing for hours not even noticing how the time has passed. What is that old saying?….TRY IT YOU’LL LIKE IT. :)

P.S. Don’t play it until after you go to the bathroom. :}

E-Mail Headaches

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

Well, I have been having interesting times. Something has gone wrong with my e-mail. I try to retrieve it and keep getting the message that there are no new messages in the server.

Sine I am not digitally minded, I have no idea how to fix it. I usually get over 100 e-mails each day and since i haven’t been able to access them, they are probably adding up. One of these days, maybe I’ll find out how to gain access again.

Junk Mail

Friday, October 3rd, 2008

I’m back again. Moe junk mail in the outside mail box. I went through all of it. Nothing of any importance. Just junk. Then I strted to remove the names where they were plastered in all of the mail. YUK.

Not elegant, but the word tells how I feel. Why do the junk mail people do that? They don’t need to put your name all over the mail. It is like they want to make it easier for someone to steal information. I shred the important pieces and make lots of confetti. I wish I had one of those remote control helicopters and could take a load of the confetti to the junk mail business and deposit it all on the heads of the bosses there.

I realize that they are working, but they choose to put peoples’ names all aver their junk without any concern as to who might look at the leavings. ICK , or maybe I should stick to YUK. Oh well, if I did that with the confetti that I make, it would be littering wouldn’t it? Still, it is a fun thought. :)

Supper Any One?

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

I was wondering what to fix for supper. Didn’t want the usual type of thing. The usual being sandwiches of one type or another.

What do my eyes show me? Italian recipes and some pictures. They look yummy. I can imagine my waist slowly wanting to inch outward, my mouth was watering. That is what would be good for supper.

The only trouble that I can see is the lack of all of the proper ingredients. What i could see was wonderful looking. My idea of a simple ‘Italian” is some cooked macaroni, spaghetti sauce, browned meat - dump together and call it Goulash. That is not Italian by the way. I call it ‘dump-it’ cooking. It works for me, but for those of you who are adventurous, check out the link above for great tasting food.

Shoes

Friday, September 19th, 2008

What type of shoes do you wear? I imagine there are as many types of shoes as there are people. As for me I like to wear something that has been called thong slippers. You know the type where the strap goes between the toes and only the bottom of the foot is completely covered.

I used to wear clogs when I was young. Thick soles, covered foot, the heel exposed. I liked them for the ease of kicking them off. Now there are Dansko shoes which look similar. They look comfortable and easy to wear. The main reason why I no longer wear regular shoes is having to tie them when my hands hurt from Arthritis, and my feet sweat.

Being the shape that I am (very rotund) does not make it easy to tie shoes, and having hands that hurt also makes it hard. Those shoes that I mentioned earlier do look comfortable however. Maybe I’ll check them out more thoroughly and find something that I really like.

Temptation

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

That word can be fun or dangerous. Well, today I’m going for fun. My sister and I communicate all the time even though she lives in Arkansas.

One thing she does a lot is send me recipes over the internet. When I look at the pictures or read the list of ingredients, my stomach starts to growl and it stirs up my imagination. It is so much fun to read what she will send each time, and some of her comments are hilarious. One of my favorite comments is - Bwahahaha. In other words, uncontrolled laughter.:)

There isn’t enough laughter in this world of ours, so any excuse to laugh makes the world brighter. Some of the sites have such beautiful pictures of what is to be fixed that they should be in picture frames. Just think of it, an art gallery filled with yummy pictures of tasty food. Of course if you could find a way to give the art gallery the scent of wonderful food, any restaurants in the neighborhood would get a lot of business after each visitor leaves. Now that would really be fun temptation !

Games

Sunday, September 7th, 2008

I do enjoy playing games. My sis often sends me games that I can try.

Right now I’m hooked on something called - Boxes and Dots - it is a bunch of dots that you connect with lines, be careful, though, you are playing against the computer which puts in lines randomly. The third line for each box is the danger line. When that happens you can start a chain of box making that could end up with most of the board owned by the computer, not you.

You never know where the computer will make a line next. If you miss an opportunity to make or complete a box, the computer will not miss it. Try it out, it is fun, and it makes you think and plan your next move for the least amount of damage.

Do not be surprised if you lose the first time around or more. It is addictive. :)

Eyeglasses

Saturday, September 6th, 2008

Did you ever think about what it is to wear eyeglasses? When I first got mine in eighth grade, I thought it would be a disaster. My classmates didn’t wear them. I thought it would be a pain.

After I got used to them, I could see what the teacher had written on the chalk board, for once. I could see faces in the crowd, too. Back at school, I could see across the school yard and see my friends in the distance. Once when a wind picked up, my friends had trouble with getting grit in their eyes. Later I realized that my eyeglasses protected my eyes from the wind. Rain made me wish for windshield wipers, though.

All in all I have found that my experience with glasses has benefited me in the long run. It is easy to add sunglasses to my frames with clip-ons. It is so much nicer to be able to see.
