Thinking

I’ve been thinking.

Tomorrow I will be 56 years old. Whoopee…well, I never thought that I would live this long. In fact, I never thought about it much at all. Isn’t it amazing how time can sneak up on you?

After the hospital

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

After his stay in the hospital, my husband is happy to be home. He has good insurance, otherwise we would be looking up some health insurance leads rather desperately.

As it is, he is spending a lot of time sleeping. Me too for that matter. Hospital stays are not my real cup of tea. The chairs that are available for the visitor to sit in are not designed for comfort. Even if some of them do tilt and lift up at the foot. My back=side will take a while to return to normal. My feet and ankles were rather swollen, my eyes looked rather bloodshop. As for the state of my mental health. I found myself repeating over and over again - coffee is my friend.

I just hope that I didn’t sound like a zombie. (Even if I felt like one.) :b

What to do - maybe

Monday, December 28th, 2009

I have been thinking. (I know that can be dangerous). If the doctor’s office had an auto insurance quote to get, would they have been told that the doctor wasn’t in the office?

Yet, that is sticking in my mind. Shows what happens when I think. Maybe i am just grumpy about being left out in the cold. I, maybe, should save the thinking for another time or subject.

What ever. I am hoping that this week something can get done properly for my husband. I am stubborn aren’t I? :)

Irony

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

I have a sense of humor.

Think about it. My blog is called Two Ton Tilly. Sometimes I talk about diet pills, fat burners, and other stuff. Now, I am snickering while I type this thinking about the contradiction in the titles and subjects.

Of course that means that my husband is looking at me as if I’d lost it. I don’t know, maybe I did a long time ago. At least the men in the ‘little white coats’ haven’t caught me yet so I am still running free. :)

Wash Up

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

Well, now that I have gotten hairballs out of my system, I get to be busy with washing up the dishes that have collected in my sink in the kitchen. It is not as if it is a set of copper sinks that might look good, it is just stainless steel.

I guess that is better than the old fashioned porcelain that would stain. I just wish that the sink was EMPTY. Sometimes empty is nice. If it is not a wallet, or a glass when you’re thirsty, empty can be nice. Oh yes, do not forget bank accounts. You do not want them empty.

My husband and I have just gone through some health problems and when those happen, nothing gets done. We used to use paper plates. You know, use them and throw them away, but that gets expensive. Now, if he could just get rid of all of his kidney stones, and me get rid of the arthritis, things will get done. :)

I have nuts

Saturday, October 17th, 2009

No, I did not say that I am nuts. Although, there are some of my friends that might think otherwise.

What I am referring to is that I have some nuts that I am going to plant. I want a tree outside of the front of our apartment. The landlord let me plant a small red bud tree there previously, but the drought killed it. It is not like I am wanting some preschool furniture from the lumber that will result, I just want shade in the mornings.

A tree would be wonderful. I was sad when the red bud died. I had been looking forward to having it bloom and be beautiful, oh well. I am going to try again. A friend gave me some nuts (acorns) from a tree where he lives. The tree itself is a live oak and it is shedding its nuts all over the place. I hope that at least one will grow and make a tree that will last for a long time. :)

Names

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Have you ever noticed how people will give names to events or places?

Sometimes it can be amusing, sometimes it can be very irritating. The word ‘Watergate’ always made me think of a dam that had floodgates in it. The nick-name for the St. Louis arch - ‘Gateway to the west’ - made me think of a corral. Westgate believe it or not is not the same as the arch.

WW1 and WW2, who decided that those two wars should have numbers on them? I mean that there have been so many wars in this world that the number could in reality be much higher. Nick-name are something that we all deal with. In high school my nick-name was AWOL. (I was caught cutting class.) The media is one of the sources of those infamous name that are stuck on things.

What is with the names? I guess it makes it easier to remember than just putting dates on everything. Sort of like the war of 1812? or not. :)

Help, Hints, Ideas

Friday, May 29th, 2009

There are a lot of web-sites that contain lots of helpful hints and other ideas. I have heard some that are truly amazing, and some that sounded weird. I remember one way to get bubble gum out of carpeting involved the use of peanut butter. It works, sounds weird, but works.

You can get on the internet and find anything from soup and different ways to make it to how to get rid of acne, to how to make money. I am not really sure of that last one, if it worked so well, why do they need to get on the internet and charge for the information?

Any way, ideas abound all over the place. :)

Games 9

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Yes, it was only a couple of days ago that I wrote about a game. Here is another. It is called UNFOLDING.

Each stage gets more and more complicated. You will see a puzzle made of dots connected to lines which cross. You are supposed to unfold each puzzle until no lines cross each others.

Remember, each game stage gets more complicated. Enjoy. :)

Where did it start?

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

I mentioned a Strawberry Daquari Ice. Now, I am thinking, where did it start?

I figure that a Pina Colada probably started in the tropics somewhere, but strawberries? How far would someone have to travel to get there and what about getting travel insurance online in order to go?

Knowing the way that things happen, I would only need to travel to the southern part of the US for something about strawberries. At least going to the origin of the Pina Colada could get me to the Bahamas or even Hawaii. :)
