It is gone

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

Welcome back!

The growth on my husband’s arm was a basil cell carcinoma.

It is gone, the doctor got it out the first time. He used a MOHS surgery to do it. Usually they cut out the offending item, then do an on site biopsy, then go back, shave some more out, do biopsy…etc.

He got it out with the first cut. Now, all that needs to be done is for the arm to heal, and the stitches to be removed in 3 weeks.

Outrageous

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

I am seriously outraged.

A woman, who knew that she was legally blind, decided to go shopping. She had her two daughters in the car with her. Oh, by the way, she also has never had a driver’s license. She decided to leave the mall, drove out into the intersection and killed a man who was on a bike run with other bikers.

She told the police officer that she didn’t see him. She hemmed and hawed about whether or not she could actually tell if the light was in her favor. She also told the office that she was legally blind.

When she went to court for this, she tried to get a lower sentence and get the court to feel sorry for her since she couldn’t see very well. The judge threw out her appeal and sent her to full trial. The jury found her guilty of manslaughter. Now, her family is trying to say that she did not get a fair trial since she is black.

I wonder just how fair the trial was for the man she killed when she broke the law and got behind the wheel of the car she was driving? Her family has offered no sorrow for the man killed, or for his family.

Saving money

Friday, August 13th, 2010

You know, if the apartment manager is smart, she will buy stuff at wholesale prices. At least that way she will be saving lots of money. It is bad enough that there will be a bunch of workers that will need to be paid.

Well, for them it isn’t bad since that means that they will be earning a living and being able to pay for their families and stuff, but the cost of having do 32 complete apartments has got to be amazing. Think about it. Paint x 32, electrical x 32, doors x 32, water heaters x 32, stoves x 32……

Glad I’m not paying that bill. Wish that we did not have to pack to get it done though.

What’s going on?

Friday, August 13th, 2010

There are things happening in our neighborhood that some do not like.

Gas is being taken out of gas tanks, some have had windows broken and cars rifled. I understand that the trash being gotten into and being scattered is being done by raccoons. But raccoons cannot get car doors open, or gas siphoned from tanks. I think that some security cameras might make the difference and tell people what is really going on. The raccoons have been actually seen by my husband and others. This other stuff, however, the culprit has managed to stay unseen. People in this neighborhood cannot afford to have expensive gasoline stolen, or things taken out of their cars.

We’ll see. :(

Another Thing

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Another thing to think about if you use a swimming pool, or outdoor spa - wrinkles.

These days people have noticed that too much time outside can cause wrinkles. If you don’t want to spend a lot of time looking up wrinkle cream reviews, make sure to use a lot of sunscreen lotion to protect your skin.

My husband used to spend a lot of time in the sun, and now he has to have his skin checked for things that should not be there. Well, I do not let him just stand in the sun anymore, I remind him to get in the shade ( being hot outside is another reminder). We will see what happens in a couple of months.

Haven’t heard, yet

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

We still haven’t heard from the doctor, yet about those biopsies that were done on my husband on the 26th.

Some of the spots that were biopsied have already healed. The one on his arm that caused the appointment to begin with has not yet healed. That one is trouble and has been trouble for the past year.

The doctor froze it, burned it, and it still is open and not healed. That makes twice that it was frozen by doctors. I don’t know what to think about it.

They knew her voice

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Guess that you wonder who I am talking about.

Well, I am talking about my niece (when she was younger), and the operators of the 911 system here where we live. When she was younger, she had a fascination for the phone. Her mom got the bill for quite a few 911 calls that were not really that type of situation. They had an unlocked phone that anyone could pick up and use.

Now, my niece was only 7 at the time and didn’t quite understand that not being able to get to the candy jar was not a 911 affair. She learned finally. She is now in her 20’s and has a couple of kids to boot. I wonder if they will also like the phone? :)

Bikers Against Child Abuse

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

This organization is otherwise known as B.A.C.A.

This members try to help children, and make child abuse disappear.

It is a worthy group that does a sadly necessary job. Here is a link to a site that explains what the group does, and how it tries to help.

Bikers Against Child Abuse

If you know any one in need, do not be afraid to put them in contact with these people. Bikers do care about kids.

UPDATE

We were contacted by one of the officers of a local B.A.C.A. group. The vest has been turned over to them and they will track down the proper owner.

While I am talking about this group, our ministry came across a vest that belongs to one of those riders. The name on the Vest is ‘Catcher’. If you know this person, you can contact us through this blog and leave a comment.

On the Road Again

Monday, June 21st, 2010

No, I am not talking about Willie Nelson’s song. However, it does have a point here.

I had mentioned that a friend of ours had a break-down in his bike and was stranded here where we live. He was able to get it fixed and was then able to get back home safe and sound. :)

Mattress

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

After years of sleeping on a mattress that needed its own rest, we have a new mattress.

It is not as big as the other one, but it is not broken down on one side leading my husband to roll off of the bed in his sleep.

Hearing the thump and grunt as he falls had gotten to be a regular thing.

NO MORE NOW ! :)
