Noises

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

Welcome back!

Have you ever thought about what type of noises the human body makes?

I didn’t until I started to make strange noises myself. The amount of ingenuity it takes to make sure that you can keep breathing without rattling or otherwise disturbing the peace can be totally amazing.

Just trying the clear your nose to inhale, trying to keep your mouth from drying out when the nose is totally stopped up, just trying to be comfortable….well, I am glad that noises do not make me sick.

The idea that a simple cold can lay the idea of silence to rest is amazing.

Gloria

Sunday, December 18th, 2011

No, it is not a name.

I took one word from an older Christmas carol to express what has happened in the last day or so. Saturday our church went on a hay ride and had a blast. Young and old, singing and non-singing, going through a nearby neighborhood, serenading anyone who wanted to listen.

We waved at passing cars, had people honk and wave back. This was fun and a time to treasure.

Today, we had church with a great message, great meal, a new singer who played a guitar beautifully, and afterward we exchanged gifts. We ended up having more laughter, smiles, and fun.

I hope that you can have a great time with your family, friends and others and also have a great time. :)

After the holiday

Friday, November 25th, 2011

After the holiday, we are still able to give thanks.

We spent the day with family and talked, ate, laughed, and had a great time.

I’m still here

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

Yes, I am still here.

Nothing much has been happening, which in some ways is very good. I believe that before I have mentioned the old Chinese curse where you point at someone and say the phrase-

may you live in interesting times

.

When you think about what is interesting, do not assume that interesting is nice. The TV mentions interesting things like earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, hurricanes. I believe that you get the idea.

It is enough to make me think that boring can very nice. ;)

Unhappy holiday

Monday, October 31st, 2011

For tonight only, many predators will be locked up in rooms to keep kids safe.

The rest of the year, kids are only protected by vigilant parents and friends.

I wish that this wasn’t so. I wish that kids could be kids without the worry of inappropriate things happening.

Earthquakes-Turkey

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

I heard about the earthquake in Turkey.

When I check out the USGS for information, this is what I found - http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Maps/10/45_40.php.

You can either click on the link or copy and paste in the information listed. It lists (at the time that i am typing this) 24 earthquakes in this little area alone.

These people are in dire need of prayer and support. I know they do not believe the same way that we do in the USA, but they are people nonetheless, and need help.

While Waiting…

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

While waiting to hear about the tape, we ought to clean out our van.

We have a bunch of clothes in it from the last inspection, we need to wash them.
We also have Mom’s step stool that she used to use to get into our van since it is so high. It is not a medical step stool, but it did serve its purpose while she was alive.

I do not know if it would hold my weight. I am not going to tell you my weight, the name of the blog should tell that, sort of. :)

Nothing yet

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

As of yet, we have heard nothing about that tape that we turned into the police. I hope that means nothing bad happened.

Meanwhile, as we sit here waiting (I hate the word wait), we are thinking about getting a new phone. I know some people are concerned with getting the Best tablet for their internet needs. We have a table top computer.

I still hate waiting, I wish that we could hear the status of that tape.

Something Happened

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

Last Monday something happened.

My husband and I had gone to a local food pantry, got some stuff and some cassette tapes.

We listened to one of the tapes and ended up called the police because of the content on the tape itself.

I hadn’t heard anything like that before, I just hope that the people involved are okay.

Well…dry

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

Well, we did have a little rain.

The surface is dry now, I don’t know when we will have more rain, but we need it in a really intense way. The farmers and ranchers here are having a lot of worry right now concerning their crops, and animals.

I would hate to be someone who uses trees for log furniture since the fires here in texas have burned so much since the drought began. On the news the scientists seem to be trying to get folks worried about long lasting drought. It is not as if they know exactly when it will or will not rain. They are guessing.

I wonder what ever happened to people wanting to wish for good news instead of bad news?
