What Winter?

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Welcome back!

Would you believe that the news had this headline on its broadcast?

Just because there is a warm spell, all of a sudden they do not know what is going on.

Phooey, they do not know their history very well do they?

Still Waiting

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

We have had some rain, but we are still waiting for some really good, long lasting rain.

The grass here in Texas seems to turn green at just the hint of wetness. Of course that means that we do not have any floods, which is wonderful for the safety of those who do not have motorhome insurance, or flood insurance.

At the same time, it is not so good for ranchers and farmers that need to water their animals or their fields.

I am still praying for a good, slow, long lasting rain that would last about 2 weeks. Flash floods need not appear. Slow rain is the best right now.

Winter is coming

Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011

Yup, winter is coming.

I have no idea just what type of winter we will have here in Texas. I have heard that up in the pan handle, they have already had some snow. I don’t know if they would have a need for snow tire chains, studs, or what not.

When I was growing up on St. Louis, Mo. all of the above were needed at one time or another. We would sometimes have trouble with power lines coming down, schools being closed, etc. Here in Texas, the winter have not been so severe as they were in Arkansas and Missouri. I do sometimes miss the snow….but only a little.

Earthquakes-Turkey

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

I heard about the earthquake in Turkey.

When I check out the USGS for information, this is what I found - http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Maps/10/45_40.php.

You can either click on the link or copy and paste in the information listed. It lists (at the time that i am typing this) 24 earthquakes in this little area alone.

These people are in dire need of prayer and support. I know they do not believe the same way that we do in the USA, but they are people nonetheless, and need help.

Get me something!

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Okay, so it is a strange title for a blog.

If I had my way, I would get myself a trailer hitch, hook it on some clouds and haul them into our area. We are tired of the drought.

We have had some rain, but not anywhere near enough. The grass is starting to get green again, but we still have warnings out about fires and open flames. I realize that some areas have too much rain, I wish that we could transport some of that water to us. It would help out both areas.

What’s up…don’t know

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

Now we wait for more rain.

The hurricane season won’t end until in November. So far, the storms seem to have their destination planned for the East Coast. I have heard of some that aimed at Mexico, but none aimed at the Gulf area of Texas.

I wouldn’t want to be someone on the East Coast right now because of the flooding. Although there are possibilities of getting some extra money with car title loans Connecticut to help repair some of the damages.

I just wonder when Texas will be having a storm this year, or if we will have a storm. We could use the rain.

Well…dry

Saturday, October 1st, 2011

Well, we did have a little rain.

The surface is dry now, I don’t know when we will have more rain, but we need it in a really intense way. The farmers and ranchers here are having a lot of worry right now concerning their crops, and animals.

I would hate to be someone who uses trees for log furniture since the fires here in texas have burned so much since the drought began. On the news the scientists seem to be trying to get folks worried about long lasting drought. It is not as if they know exactly when it will or will not rain. They are guessing.

I wonder what ever happened to people wanting to wish for good news instead of bad news?

Drizzle

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

Well, we have had a couple of days with some drizzles that fell down.

We are still hoping that a genuine rain will occur to help our area.

RAIN !!

Friday, September 16th, 2011

Yes, it rained yesterday.

That was wonderful. It was also very short. We need a lot more rain to make up for what we have not yet gotten. I figure that the weather people would know just what is needed.

I am praying that we get more rain. A long, slow, steady rain would be the best. Hard down pours would only create flooding and wash away the top soil which is needed. The East Coast is suffering through that right now. That is not what I am looking for.

Might Need

Wednesday, September 14th, 2011

One thing that might be needed, is it does rain here, is a storm shelter.

We have been praying for rain for so long that I hope that God does not give us all the rain that we have prayed for, all at once.

The East Coast has been having more than their fair share of wetness,m and flooding I have no desire to have that here. Right now everything is so dry that it would take a long slow drizzle just to soften the ground so the water wouldn’t just run off. The next few days are supposed to have a slight chance of rain.

We will see what happens.
