HEAT WAVE

Wednesday, August 10th, 2011

Welcome back!

I live in Texas.

We are in the middle of a HEAT WAVE. Tomorrow we are supposed to break a record in the number of days straight, over a hundred.

I would not be sad if that did not happen. I am ready for Fall, Winter, Spring.

I know that summer has it’s reason for being, I am still ready for those other seasons.:)

Here I am again

Sunday, March 13th, 2011

I went to the doctor today.

I have shingles again. My face feels as if it was wiped with Orajel. Earlier, I had a headache in my face.

Since I didn’t get to the doctor within the first 48 hours, he can’t prescribe any meds to stop it. I just have to let it run its full course.

My previous run-in with shingles ended with me in the hospital.

I am NOT a happy camper. :(

Finally heard

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

We finally heard back from the doctor about those things that were removed from my husband. Some good news, some bad.

Spot 1 - cheek bone, no biopsy, but it is healing nicely.
Spot 2 - the back of his neck was a basil cell carcinoma. The doctor will check it again in 3 months.
Spot 3 - the growth on his back was another basil cell carcinoma. When they examined it, they said that it looked as iff it had been completely removed just by getting the biopsy sample.
Spot 4 - the growth on his eyelid was normal skin, just a little tag.
Spot 5 - the sore on his arm proved to be a basil cell carcinoma, but it was slightly different than the others. This type tries to send out roots. The doctor will be performing an operation on the 23rd of this month. It will be a Mose surgery. They will cut, examine it, and if necessary, go back in and cut some more in little slivers until they get clean tissue and there is no more of the cancer. This usually has a 98% cure rate with no returning cancer.

The spot still itches on his arm and sometimes, it even burns. So we will see what happens.

Haven’t heard, yet

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

We still haven’t heard from the doctor, yet about those biopsies that were done on my husband on the 26th.

Some of the spots that were biopsied have already healed. The one on his arm that caused the appointment to begin with has not yet healed. That one is trouble and has been trouble for the past year.

The doctor froze it, burned it, and it still is open and not healed. That makes twice that it was frozen by doctors. I don’t know what to think about it.

Our planet has acne

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Yes, I did say that our planet has acne.

If you get too much oil on your face, sometimes you get acne. Well with the oil spill out in the Gulf of Mexico, we have too much oil on the surface of our planet. Therefore - acne. Right? Maybe? Maybe acne treatments reviews might help people, but I don’t think it will help in this instance.

I am just wondering how this mess will ever be cleaned up, or if it will be cleaned up. It’s bad enough that all of the oil is being wasted, but the damage that it is doing at the same time is just horrible. The lives being lost in the actual explosion, the wildlife that is being lost, the damage being done to the living of fishermen on the coast, the damage to the environment……

Is there a final answer to this mess?

I hate to think what the final answer might be.

Critters

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

I remember doing science when I was in school (please do NOT ask me when that was). I always figured that the textbooks that we used did not mention enough about critters of any type.

The behavior of critters and the behavior of people are sometimes so similar that it makes me wonder which of us is smarter. Biology was okay, but I did not like cutting up critters. I would rather have seen them alive and studied their antics.

Not enough information, maybe too little time was spent investigating living things, rather than the insides of dead things. After all living things are what we happen to be.

Transferring

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

I am not transferring to another country (in spite of Obamacare), or to another school (I have been out of school for decades).

I have been transferring information from one computer to another. Oh joy….NOT. I need a flash drive. At least that is what my brother-in-law who is a computer dude, says. He says that I can put all of the information onto the flash drive, and then zip it into my other computer and then go to town.

Where do I find one? :) (smiley face with hope)

Raining

Friday, January 29th, 2010

It is raining right now., The lightning was oing on earlier so had to turn everything off. No fun.

Went out and got soggy. At least I didn’t ge the carpet soggy when I came it. If it was tile flooring, it would be easier to clean up, but this apartment has carpeting right near the front door.

some of the apartments are without power right now. The electric company is circling the block trying to figure out where the interruption is so they can fix it. Meanwhile, people are not happy. We are one of the few that have not lost power this time. That’s cool, except for the fact that we had to turn everything off because of the lightning. Oh well, at least we are dry.

He’s getting older

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

I know that my husband is getting older. I need to think about getting some of the best multivitamin for men for him.

He has had surgery and is now recovering nicely. The pain that he was in is fading and the soreness is getting smaller and smaller. Soon he will not be having pain from the operation and he will be fully recovered.

We are both looking forward to that day will glee. We had both been worried about the operation since it was located in a very person place. He made it through and now is on the downhill side of it. :)

Tomorrow

Monday, January 4th, 2010

Tomorrow, he will be operated on. My husband that is.

He has been waiting for this to happen since the beginning of November of 2009. Thank God he has not been waiting 12 months, but it has been long enough. I have a bag ready with stuff to keep me occupied while he is in surgery. If I had any promotional items that I could share, I know there will be a lot of other people waiting also.

He is nervouse about this. It is occurring in a very personal place, so the nervousness is understandable. He is also impatient top get it over with and no longer will he need to be catheterized. I mentioned in earlier posts that he considers it to be another type of torture. Well, time will tell. He is sleeping right now and I hope that he is getting the rest that he needs for tomorrow.
