Welcome back!

Yes, it rained yesterday.

That was wonderful. It was also very short. We need a lot more rain to make up for what we have not yet gotten. I figure that the weather people would know just what is needed.

I am praying that we get more rain. A long, slow, steady rain would be the best. Hard down pours would only create flooding and wash away the top soil which is needed. The East Coast is suffering through that right now. That is not what I am looking for.

One thing that might be needed, is it does rain here, is a storm shelter.

We have been praying for rain for so long that I hope that God does not give us all the rain that we have prayed for, all at once.

The East Coast has been having more than their fair share of wetness,m and flooding I have no desire to have that here. Right now everything is so dry that it would take a long slow drizzle just to soften the ground so the water wouldn’t just run off. The next few days are supposed to have a slight chance of rain.

We will see what happens.

I live in Texas.

We are in the middle of a HEAT WAVE. Tomorrow we are supposed to break a record in the number of days straight, over a hundred.

I would not be sad if that did not happen. I am ready for Fall, Winter, Spring.

I know that summer has it’s reason for being, I am still ready for those other seasons.:)

I have seen another commercial again that disturbs me.

This one shows some kids playing and using a cell phone to film it. ‘Dad’ comes in and says it is not being used correctly. He then proceeds to try to knock off the head of his young daughter with the ping-pong ball. If it had hit, it would hurt, I know from personal experience.

He brags that, that is 3D, and tries to act as if he had done something great.

Talk about abuse. This ad abuses my sense of family, proper treatment, everything is wrong with it. Yes, I am griping. There is enough wrong with the world today without adding to it with abusive family acts being advertised.

Another thing I have found that we need is a new document management system.

Whether it would be a Dokmee document management system, a group of filing cabinets, a secretary, or what….

We need help. We are now managing mom’s papers as well as ours. So far, so good. However, time will tell what the end result will be. I am not that happy to do paperwork, but I know that it needs to be done. I am glad that i did have some schooling concerning accounting, it is coming in handy now even though I am not employed to do it. Whew…..paperwork…..:(

I saw something on Facebook that had my juice glands watering.

It was an advertisement for cheap cookie gift baskets. I couldn’t believe what I was looking at.

The cookies were designed to look like different types of animals and they also had other designs. Someone must have a great imagination to do something like that. My problem is that I would be tempted to eat what I was decorating instead of making them for sale to others. Mom told my husband and I that she now has a new nickname at the Hospice where she’d been staying.

They call her the “79 year old miracle baby”. Right now she is at a nearby rehabilitation center getting rehabbed for possible return to her home.

These days with all that is going on, one of the jobs that I would not really like to have is one in the customer service field.

Let’s face it, customer service jobs are job that cannot just be taken by any one who is looking for employment. One of the things necessary for that job is to be able to listen, and understand others.

I have run into situations where the person who should be listening, has no idea what the people involved are talking about, and try to insert their idea of what the answer is. Technical service is really what I have had problems with getting someone who is in the ‘know’.

If you are someone who feels able to work this type of job - More power to you, and a lot of patience.

Do you have any pet peeves?

Aw come on, every one does. With me one of the peeves that gets to me the most is to be interrupted by someone who wants to comment on what I am saying when I have not even finished talking, yet.

If they have something to say about what I am talking about, they have not even been listening to begin with. Unfortunately for them, I do have a loud voice and will do my best to get them to listen. Does that make me stubborn…. I’d say yes.

I bet that is some else’s pet peeve.

Yes, there are opinions everywhere. I even have an opinion about them myself.

An opinion on opinions? Why not every place I look on the internet, I see that people add their opinions to what others have said. Do you realize that there are whole conversations in some opinion areas that have nothing to do with what was written in the first place.

It feels as if the internet has become the world’s soap box. I remember when I did not have internet access. I still had opinions, but they did not go world-wide.

Opinions used to mean that people were thinking. After reading some of the stuff given as opinions, I begin to wonder.
