Politics, politics, YUK

Welcome back!

Everywhere that I look on the TV right now, there are political ads everywhere, everywhere….did I say EVERYWHERE?

This man says this, that man says that……noise, noise, NOISE!

I am an opinionated fat broad and even I don’t have as many opinions as the politicians do in all of their ads.

I know that they are trying to get elected, I just wish that they would tell the truth.

OOPS, if they did that they would not get elected….would they?

Am I the only one who feels that the political course of our country has been side tracked by the media frenzy that goes with elections?

Now what?

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

Well, as I had mentioned in my previous article, there have been some things going on.

Now, We find out when a policeman comes to the door that the American Legion across the street from us was broken into the other night. I begin to think that we might need some security cameras to watch the neighborhood. Not only was the Legion building broken into, but the water department for our city was also broken into. The officer was trying to find out if anyone had seen anything when this happened. We were one of the first to have him visit since we live so close to where it happened.

The park down the road from us has its own troubles, too. There are hookers and drug dealers, or horny males hanging out there a lot. So much for the kids being able to play without any trouble.

Delayed

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

Well, the on going saga of my husband and his possible surgery goes on.

I was wondering why nothing was happening. So, I called the doctor’s office to find out just what was going on. I managed to talk to a very nice lady who then told me that the doctor was out SICK.

No one told us anything until them. We kept waiting and waiting for someone to call. The secretary, who knew that we had been waiting, never called, she just took her vacation time since the doctor was out sick.

Anger is too mild a word for what I felt when I found this out. The same person who fouled up the first date for his surgery by with-holding information on medicine to stop, couldn’t be bothered to let us know why the surgery wasn’t going to happen any time soon. Never mind all of the pain that he has been going through each day with all of the procedures in catheterization. Anger, oh yeah, but the lady that I was talking to was not at fault. So now we continue to wait, …………..still………………………………………..

I could scream

Monday, December 14th, 2009

I know that is a strange title for an article, but it states my feelings.

My husband was supposed to be operated on December 10. It did not happen. we went to the Anesthesia assessment unit with my husband for his pre-op interview. It went okay until the nurse verified that he had stopped his Plavix and daily aspirin. Well, we were not told that was necessary. The information that we got from the secretary did not include that little bombshell.

Well, the operation was canceled. Then my husband was told to visit a cardiologist. We did that. Now he has to under go a thallium stress test. It is not until the 17th of December. One whole week after he was supposed to be operated on. The continued waiting is getting worse. The new operation is not even mentioned, yet. The cardiologist is going on vacation the same day of the test and will not be back until the 22nd. So, my husband is scheduled with another cardiologist the day after the test, on the 18th.

Meanwhile each day, is the procedure where my husband is catheterized at least 3 xs a day with accompanying pain each and every time. He suffers daily cramping inside his gut. He has pain almost all of the time either from hurt after the cramp, or from the procedure itself.

I could scream.

FOUL UP !!

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Well, my husband was supposed to be operated on on December 10th.

It was fouled up. The secretary ‘forgot’ to give all of the information to us. My husband was supposed to stop 2 medicines for a week before the operation, and we were never told of this. Now, he has to go through the cardiologist the day after he was supposed to be operated on and we do not know when the operation will be.

Yes, I am GROWLING HERE. He has to go through unnecessary pain every day that should be ending soon. Instead he will be going through it for at least one week longer. It makes me wonder what else the secretary fouled up.

While I mention it…

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

While I am mentioning traveling….

Do you realize that there are a lot of crazy people in cars out on the highway? If you can safely look at the car next to you, check out what the driver is doing.

Once I saw someone putting on mascara using the mirror while ‘driving’. Hello, what about watching the road or where you are going? Or maybe that is just something extra and ‘not’ necessary?

Give me a break (hopefully not a bone that is). Talking on the cell phone is another pet peeve of mine. How is that phone call more important that your life or mine for that matter?

Do I sound like I am griping? Of course I am. I always thought that when you were driving, you weren’t supposed to do anything else. How about driving and talking to the other person in the car. Of yeah, you are looking at the other person and not at the road.

If these cars were guided by an ‘intelligent computer and the driver was not necessary, I could see doing all of these things. That is not the case. I do not know about you, but I am not ready to die for someone being a dufus instead of being the driver.

To me that is another taste of someone abusing the power that they have.

Online problems

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

When I go online, I use our cell phone as the modem.

I never realized that could be a problem. Everything goes fine, and then zap, a phone call. What ever I was loading on the computer is now lost and I have to start again. Of course when it is my mother-in-law calling and she wants to talk about something, she will keep calling and calling. So each time that I start to reload, I end up reloading each time she calls. She knows that the phone is used for this, yet she will say each time that she does not know.

Aggravating is mild to what I feel when this happens. We have voice mail and will get back to her, but she does not care, she keeps calling and calling which causes problems. She has been told this so many times and yet each time she will say that she did not know that. Hunh, yeah right. It is almost as if she has an inbuilt radar to know when to call to interrupt something. That is why I have to do online things at horrible hours of the morning or night and even then there is no guarantee that she will not call.

Sometimes it can be amazing just how her memory can be so convenient in what she remembers, and what she does not remember. Since it is a cell phone, each call counts against a total number of minutes and yet she will call, hang up and call right back to talk about something else that could have been dealt with the first time. I am not being paranoid about this. There are days when she has called every 5 minutes to talk about nothing but junk. When told that we have limited numbers of minutes each time she will say that she did not know. This has gone on for years, and yet she will say she did not know. OY Her memory is such that she will remember things that are important to her easily, but when it comes to things that are NOT important to HER, she will not remember. Yes, I am blowing off steam here and griping. I’ve got to do it somewhere, because she will not listen to either me or to her son. Thank you for your time and for ‘lending an ear’/

Is Anybody Listening?

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

Ok, I have been reading. I have been watching.

There are so many people that do not want Obama-care that it is unreal. The news talks about the protesters. The politicians ignore those speaking out. People from other countries are making comments. The BBC website has a lot of comments.

What I do not hear is a reasonable way to fix things. Politicians in control of our health created Medicare and Medicaid. Politicians are the ones who have helped this country into having a hard time financially, not just the investors, banks, and stock brokers alone. Why would we want them in charge of our collective health? Remember, they have their own health-care system. They would not suffer.

Did you listen, or even hear?

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Well, Obama has had his say about health care. Were your questions answered? Or do you still have questions?

This is what I know:
People in Canada leave their country to come here to get good health care.
People in Great Britain leave their country to get good health care.

Why do they not stay in their own countries if their type of health care is so great?

It is because their health care systems are not as good as what we have here. Yes, it could stand some improvement. However, getting our political figures involved in the health care process definitely is not the answer. Just look at the operating costs of our government and then figure the same type of spending applied to your own health, or lack of health. The politicians will not be using what the regular people will be stuck with after all. They have their own health care programs and do not have to face the same type of paper work and hassles. Why is it so important to force something down the throats of Americans when they do NOT want the interference?

I wonder

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

I really do wonder about something. I had mentioned some trouble that i am having with one of our creditors. They decided to change the due date of the bill and then decided to add a late charge even though the bill was not yet due.

I wonder if there is such a thing as term life insurance concerning such problems. They have removed the illegal late charge, they supposedly have re-changed the due date (which they never should have changed to begin with). I wonder what they will try to do next. I wonder if they also removed any interest that came about as a result of their illegal ‘late’ charge?

If it sounds like I am still angry - I am. I do not like people playing games with my life, or with my husband’s life, or anything connected to us.
