I’m hungry

Welcome back!

Yes, with a title like I have for my blog, I am hungry. Right now, I have a pot on the stove with green pepper (fresh) cooked into BBQ sauce and with Polish sausages cut up into it. I have been waiting for my husband to wake up, and then we can both eat. Yum.

Of course, this is not diet food, and it is not like I will take some diet pill before eating. I am still hungry and have not yet figured out what else to eat. After all just sausages alone do not make a meal. Fries would go good with the meat and sauce, so would a salad, or some other veggies. I think that the fries will win, however. Looking forward to lunch. :)

Eating Place

Sunday, June 22nd, 2008

Aha! I just found one of my favorite eating places on the internet.

It’s called Chuck’s Pea Ridge BBQ , in Temple, Texas.

I have never tried their burgers, steaks, shrimp, or BBQ. I seem to be hung up over their fried catfish. It is wonderful. The fillets are plump, moist, and cooked to perfection. Makes my mouth water. It’s served with fries, slaw, and those hush puppies that look like little tubes. On Fridays, you can go in and find that the catfish is all you can eat. It is pretty darn good in my opinion. Oh, if you can’t eat slaw, like my husband can’t, they let you substitute fries instead.

Every time that my husband and I eat on Friday, we never need supper.:) One of these days, I need to try their other items. My mother-in-law loves onion rings and got one, I repeat ONE order of them. The onion rings were about 4 inches across, and about 1 to 1 and a half inches tall. The basket that they came in was overflowing. She got the Senior plate of catfish and couldn’t finish anything. She took the rest home for another meal, later. The people that work there are friendly and the service is right on time. We live in Belton and the restaurant is in Temple, Texas. I wish they were closer, although it only takes 15 minutes (approximately) to get there from where we live. If you live in Bell County Texas, you should try it if you get a chance.

Cruelty

Cruel and unusual punishment! That’s what it is. Chocolate getting more expensive. OW! Everybody knows there are essential items in life: Life (of course), liberty (hey, what’s not to like about liberty), the pursuit of happiness (here’s where chocolate comes in).

Being alive means you have good and bad around you all the time. Good–waking up in the morning and knowing you’re alive. Bad–a flat tire (need I say more?).

Having liberty is wonderful. You can go practically anywhere you want; think what you want; choose how you live, etc. The pursuit of happiness seems rather obvious until you actually think about what makes you happy. Each person has different likes and dislikes; but, very few enjoy hurting or feeling sad. Seems strange but, I know a few like that.

Have you ever eaten chocolate and the chocolate made you sad? Not me, unless I’ve run out of chocolate. I’m not saying that every meal should have chocolate in there; but, occasionally it’s very nice to have. If you’ve had a bad day and need a quick pick-me-up a savory piece of chocolate, slowly melting away on your tongue is such a help.

Have you ever noticed just how many different flavors chocolate comes in? It is such a flexible item to use that it has possibilities for every meal. (If you are so inclined) One version of BBQ Chicken has chocolate in it–Chicken Mouli! Never knew it until one day I watched it being fixed. Hot chocolate on very cold days, wow. Cold chocolate pudding after some spicy chili, yum. And, now the price of chocolate is going up? Talk about hitting below the belt. If that don’t, what do?
