Oh, I like it !

Welcome back!

Now that I think about it, the most glittery holiday of them all is getting closer.

The holiday that I love the most is Christmas. I get to see lots of outdoor Christmas decorations, lights everywhere, holiday music.

There are times that I feel like a kid when this holiday comes. I feel very thankful for what was given to everyone on that particular day. I also enjoy all of the decorations that go along with it. My husband used to wonder each year just what I would do to decorate our home for Christmas. We still have pictures. Our outdoor front porch still has lights on it that I hook up each year, but since we have cats in the house, I can’t put stuff up since the cats would get into it.

In fact, one cat we had tried to climb the artificial Christmas tree and broke a branch. Every time that he went near that tree, he would hiss. Hilarious ! :)

I wanted to have a regular tree that could be planted afterward, but my husband is allergic to those trees. I still love that holiday and its decorations.

Sunning Time

Tuesday, November 9th, 2010

It has come to that time of the year again.

I call it sunning time. Since the weather is not as hot as it had been for a while, the cats like to get on the window sill and sun them selves.

Since one of them is mostly white, she shows up rather nicely when she does this. Of course when we leave the front curtains open, she choses to do this while on the back of the couch.

She does make a rather ‘glowing’ couch ornament. :)

Dirty Looks

Friday, November 5th, 2010

Have you ever heard of the old saying “if looks could kill”? There are many various meanings to that phrase. Helen of Troy had looks that men used as an excuse to kill hundreds, if not thousands “The face that launched a thousand ships”. There used to be an old saying about someone having the “evil eye” that made people afraid of being killed by a look.

Well people, cats have known about dirty looks for a long time. They are experts at the ‘dirty look’. One example was what happened a little while ago. One of our cats decided she needed the litter pan. I happened to see since I was on the ‘throne’ and stuck in one place for a while. As she positioned herself, my husband passed by and passed gas. The timing was superb in that respect. Her ears went flat, her eyes went half closed, and when she got out, she gave him a DIRTY LOOK. I wonder if she was thinking that she would be blamed for what he did? (snicker) :D

He is now under 300

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

He did not even need any weight loss programs either.

Of course, he spent all the time in misery, so his recent weight loss program was not very nice. He has learned to eat less, and avoid bending over to pick up anything from the floor.

Of course that means that I get to put out the wet food for our cats (that stuff makes you wish your nose was stuffed up), clean up any type of throw up that they have from hair balls, and clean out the litter pan. Of course I have been doing the litter pan for a while.

Do you realize that hair ball from cats can come in multiple colors? I know, strange question wasn’t it? :)

She Bit Me !!

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

I believe that I have mentioned before that we have cats.

Well, one has a ‘cattitude’. In other words, she is a cat with attitude.

She has this thing about being ignored. She does not like it. When my husband is getting dressed in our bedroom, she will do various things to get his attention. Well, yesterday she decided that she did not like me ignoring her and she bit me. Right on the rump.

When I hollered about her doing this, my husband broke down laughing and told me that she does it to him all of the time. Amazing how such a little critter can have so many little things that she does. She does make us smile. :)

I hate carpeting

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Well, maybe not totally. I just wish that someone else would have to vacuum it.

If we had floor tiles, all that we would need to do is sweep and mop once in a while. Spill would come up so much easier. Stains would not happen, and the floor would not stay soggy after a spill.

It sounds so simple doesn’t it? Well, we live in an apartment and are stuck with the carpet. HUMPH (No I am not a camel here)

I know that floor tiles come in a lot of different types and there are a lot of choices. Of course in the winter time, there is the matter of a possible chill to the feet. I don’t know. I am tired of having to vacuum. Besides, it is fun to watch the cats slide when they try to run fast on tile floors. :)

Surprise Gifts

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

Sometimes I like surprises. Gifts are usually nice, too.

However, with cats in the house…….surprise can be almost anything.

The other night one of our cats kept bugging me and calling RANH, yes RANH, not meow, over and over again. I finally followed her to see what had her upset, and ended up getting slightly upset myself. She had evidently left a nice hairball on the covers of the bed and she wanted me to clean it up. For some reason, when these things occur, she want someone to know and clean it up so she cried out until we notice it. After that she is okay with it. Of course if you find the surprise by putting you hand in the middle of the cold, wet ’surprise’ you might not feel grateful at the time.

Later I feel grateful tht she notified one of us about the problem. Once my husband found a ‘gift’ in his western boot. Half of a small critter had been left for him to find with his toes. Well, I do not think I have ever seen that particular look on his face before. It was verrrrrrrry interesting. He can laugh about it now, but not then. I must say that pets do keep you on your toes when they are around. You never quite know what can happen next.

Sandbox Kid

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

We have 2 cats.

For those who have been here before that is NOT news. One thing that I do have to say is that we also have ‘The Sandbox Kid’ in the house. She gets into the litter box and then - plays in the sand.

It does not feel too good to walk barefoot in the hallway with litter on the floor. If you ever want to see a fat broad do the 2 step rather quickly, spread littler when the lady is barefoot.

We now keep a broom stationed permanently in the hallway right near the littler box. This little kitty loves to play in it when the litter has not been used. I have no idea why, it just gets all over the floor. I guess a dustpan would also be good. OW

Sitting on it again

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

I believe that before I had mentioned that we have 2 cats….yes?

Did I also mention that one sat on the head of the other when the other was being very buggy?

Well, the sitter has decided to strike again. She wanted to sit near me and get some attention. I wanted to hold her higher and snuggle since she is very cuddly. Well, she decided that she was comfortable where she was and sat on my hand and wrist. Since she weighs nearly 10 pounds, my hand was rather weighed down..When I tried to life her, she pushed with her front legs and made herself heavier.

She sat on it again ! This time, it was my hand and wrist.

Oh Insrutable Kitty

Friday, August 7th, 2009

I am being watched.

There is a furry person who has been watching me, all without comment. I have made faces at her, she doe not respond. I talked to her, she doe not respond. I wonder if I am in trouble.

There is food in both food dishes. One is for wet food, the other for dry food. I know that it isn’t that. There is water in the water bowl. It isn’t that.

I wonder what it is that makes her stare at me? If you have ever been stared at by a cat - you know the feeling. Should i feel guilty? I don’t think that I’ve done something to deserve this.

Oh oh, she is on the move.

I now have a cat sitting on my stomach. I think she was bored, or thought that I was crazy. Oh well, the purr is nice. :)
