Welcome back!

Hair today, gone…….MAYBE.

A few months ago I came up with the bright idea of letting my hair grow. I usually keep it around 2 inches long. Why did I do this? I learned about a special charity called LOCKS OF LOVE. If you get your hair cut and the part you cut off is 10 inches or longer, this organization can use the hair to make wigs for children that have diseases and are bald because of medical treatments.

It sounded like an easy way to help at the time. I mean, my hair will grow no matter what right now, and instead of throwing it away, it could be used for good things. Boy, I had forgotten what it is like to have that much hair on my head. It has gotten to the point that it now drives me crazy. Thank God for rubber bands. There is only one thing that I wish for right now. I want my hair to grow faster ! After it is long enough, I can cut it and stop the insanity. Sometimes, I feel almost like cousin It from the Adams family. I am not covered in hair, it just feels like it. Humph. :/

Any way, the words children and cancer should never be in the same sentence, but it happens. There are other diseases that can cause baldness and make those kids feel out of place. If you have long hair, and don’t want to just throw it all away, check out Locks of Love. Anything which will help these kids to feel as normal as possible is wonderful.:)

Protection?

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Just read another article about those in public service (I should have written public ’service’ instead) abusing those they are supposed to help. When there is a loving family for children to be in, why are the children being forced to be in foster care? Is it not abuse to deny children the love of a family? To me that is abuse. Unnecessary abuse when the kids are obviously loved and wanted. What is with the different agencies that lie to families, to children, and break them apart unnecessarily?

I know of other cases where innocent people were harassed, lied to, had money stolen from them, and were persecuted by the people in a supposed “protective” service agency. Why have so many agencies gotten power hungry. What ever happened to serving the public interests instead of persecuting them?
