Service

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

Welcome back!

These days with all that is going on, one of the jobs that I would not really like to have is one in the customer service field.

Let’s face it, customer service jobs are job that cannot just be taken by any one who is looking for employment. One of the things necessary for that job is to be able to listen, and understand others.

I have run into situations where the person who should be listening, has no idea what the people involved are talking about, and try to insert their idea of what the answer is. Technical service is really what I have had problems with getting someone who is in the ‘know’.

If you are someone who feels able to work this type of job - More power to you, and a lot of patience.

The economy being what it is, jobs are IMPORTANT.

here is a link to a site that might have some jobs listed. Click on the word retail jobs, and look at what they have.

My husband and I do not work, we are unable to work. He is on Disability, I have no job what so ever. If I could work, I would. To those out there who are needing work, I wish you the best.

I Wonder…

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

I just mentioned earlier that I like to imitate animals. I wonder if there is a particular type of job search that could find me a job doing just that.

I have heard some of the sounds that are done for commercials, and they are too phony for words sometimes. When they have cat sounds on the commercials, our cats ignore it and go about their business. At least when I do cat sounds, they look and answer.

Does that make me weird? Maybe.

Careers

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

With this economy, a new career would probably help someone. It’s just that it would be something if all of the unemployed got new careers all at the same time.

What field is the one most looking for someone to fill it right now? I have no idea. I haven’t worked for a long time. I think it was in 1989. I was working in a print shop in Arkansas. I had fun there.

In my life, I have learned a lot of different skills. Some I still use, others are going to waste. At least my mind still works.

Doesn’t it? :)

Health Care

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Yes, out there are jobs. How do people find them? I don’t know right now.

I know that jobs in healthcare are really important. My husband spent some time in the hospital not too long ago. There were nurses on duty, there were others who also did some of the duties, but there were not enough.

I was there to help get my husband what he needed that did not require a registered nurse, or a technician. Not everyone has someone who can spend the time in each room for help them.

When I had worked as a nurses aide about 20 years ago, there were never enough people available to do the job. That fact has not changed much in the years that have gone past. Aides do the things that nurses are too busy to do. Nurses, aides, technicians, lab workers - all of those positions need to be filled, but there is a lack of personnel to fill those positions.

What season is this?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

What season is this? Spending, camping, sales, and turkeys.

Well, that nice and all that but, the ones that I think about are those who needs some employment. I mean, having a place to sleep, eat, rest and relax is really important.

I was homeless once and it is a scary feeling. Some jobs right now are only for the season, but people needs jobs all of the time. Here is a link for philadelphia jobs. I hope that it will help someone who is loking in that area.

Keep it safe this season people, the emergency rooms do not need any more patients.

I Remember When

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Ever heard that before? Well, I really do remember when I was working in a machine shop.

I had a blast. They taught me how to read parts blueprints, inspect pieces to make sure they met specifications on the blueprints, how to use different types of measuring instruments. They even taught me how to use different machines, and different types of industrial clamps. When I was on my break, I was allowed to use some of the machines and scrap metal to make things. My boss was very lenient in letting me do those things. The idea that I was female never got in the way. Before too long, I had been taught how to be a shipping clerk, tool crib attendant, quality control inspector, and a machine operator. I would come home from work covered in machine oil, and metal shavings. When I said that I had a blast, I meant it. That job was more than just a job, it was fun. I enjoyed getting my hands on some of the different machines. I do believe that I was blessed with the type of employer that I had because in the 1970’s some jobs were assumed to be for males, and females were not expected to enjoy those types of things. I know that today attitudes are different; but, I am glad for the opportunities that I had before people got wise to female abilities also. :)

Jobs

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

i know that in my last post I had mentioned a fall party. Some families will not feel like doing such a thing, like some who live in New York around the stock market. The thing is that there are still jobs in Manhattan that are going begging looking for the right person to fill the position. For those in New York, or in one of the surrounding areas, do not give up hope.

There are places that still need accountants, nurses, and other types of professional people to fill vacancies. Getting a job right now would certainly help with the hard times in the financial market. Families do need to stick together and whether it be a small matter like a party or a big matter like employment, not giving up is one way to get through the squeeze. I am not talking about putting on a false front here either. The gathering at someone’s house does not have to be fancy and expensive, or over the top. The job itself does not have to have a giant title either, but looking and not giving up, and presenting a solid front are definite positives for any family.

Jobs

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008

Right now there must be a lot of people who are wanting to make sure that their jobs will not disappear because of the economic troubles going on.

My husband is on Disability, it isn’t much but it is better than having nothing. I do not have a job, except for my web sites. If I was to look for a job, with my health problems, it would need to be a sit down type of job. For others, doing a sales job search might be hard. I realize that sales people must have a difficult time getting commissions if people do not want to buy. There are products out there that are wanted and finding the right job with the right company is important. For all of you who are looking for work, I do wish you the best possible job. As you look, stay safe, OK?
