Camera Needed

Saturday, January 8th, 2011

Welcome back!

My brother-in-law in Arkansas needs cameras to do his vlogging.

He has a Facebook Channel called The Tin Foil Chef. He has also done some diary work on his weight loss fight. He has mentioned the need for a camer that will have finer pixel ratios to get better pictures.

I am happy just to have help when he helps me to put a picture on my blog.

I wish that I was more digital. Then I might understand what he is talking about, and might actually be able to insert pictures myself. Thank God for brothers. :)

Frustration

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

My husband packs things.

When we need to do a clean up in our apartment, his idea of cleaning involves packing things into boxes, and then cramming them into the closet.

We now have little portable drawers on wheels with three drawers to put glues, paints, papers, pens, and pencils. What does he do? He crams things into boxes and I have to tell him that it is not the right thing to do when we have the drawer cabinet.

Frustration is getting him to put things into their proper location instead of cramming. OY VEY.

FOOOD

Friday, November 26th, 2010

Yup, we are having a lot of food tomorrow.

We will be having turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, herb bread ) no stuffing as my husband is allergic to sage), several pies, and cake.

We will have our brother come over and visit while this meal is being presented. In other words, we will be having a feast.

I have one word to say about it all - YUMMMMMmmm.

Still looking

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

We are still looking for some shoes, or boots that my brother can wear.

I know that women’s rain boots would not be the answer. I just hate that he has to special order his footwear.

I, myself, because of my size, order large clothing. Let’s face it, I would not blow away in a gale because of my size. I would make a good anchor for someone skinny, or small in stature to hold onto.

My husband is 6 feet tall and orders some of his clothes from catalogs that specialize in that type of clothes. Most of the time if he gets his shirts from the store, the shirt does not cover his belly very well, and he cannot tuck the shirt into his pants. When we go into the store with my brother walking between us, it reminds me of a sandwich cookie that does not have enough filling. :/

Do you remember?

Do you remember what you were doing on important days?

When Kennedy was assassinated, I was staying with neighbors since momwas in another citry going to a special school for her work.

When Winston Churchill died, I was planning what to eat for my birthday.

When 911 happened, I had just arrived to visit my sister. We watched, together, with horror when the second tower was hit, and when the towers each collapsed.

Do you remember what you were doing when important things happened?

They knew her voice

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Guess that you wonder who I am talking about.

Well, I am talking about my niece (when she was younger), and the operators of the 911 system here where we live. When she was younger, she had a fascination for the phone. Her mom got the bill for quite a few 911 calls that were not really that type of situation. They had an unlocked phone that anyone could pick up and use.

Now, my niece was only 7 at the time and didn’t quite understand that not being able to get to the candy jar was not a 911 affair. She learned finally. She is now in her 20’s and has a couple of kids to boot. I wonder if they will also like the phone? :)

Skin

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

My skin tone is okay, so far.

I know of some people who have trouble with oily skin, eczema, and other stuff. What the eczema causes are, I have no idea.

I figure that the doctors should know the best medications for getting rid of it. I have never had to go to a dermatologist. My husband has an appointment with one coming up. He has a sore on his arm that he got when messing with his motorcycle as it blew some gaskets. It sometimes opens and bleeds. His regular doctor has tried to freeze it to get it to dry up, but that hasn’t yet worked. So in the near future, he will find out what a visit to the dermatologist is like. I hope that the diabetes he has isn’t the cause of that sore not healing.

Medical

This is a request for prayer from any one who believes and prays.

Becky Ballard, the wife of our pastor is in the hospital. The hospital has said that she has had 2 heart attacks. She is loved greatly and we do not want to lose her.

Her husband Milton is fighting his own fight with COPD.

Please pray for both of them.

I wonder about my bones

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

I do wonder about my bones. I am over weight, and have had a broken bone or two in my life.

Of course I didn’t know about it at the time, found out later that they had been broken. I need some diet pills that really work. I need to lose weight even without any exercise.

I have yet to hear about those pills. All of the pills that I’ve heard about also mention exercise. It’s not that I think it is a dirty word, I just am unable to do the exercise. Right now as I sit here typing, my ankle is wrapped and I have been limping. I wish that I had taken 2 canes with me to the hospital with mom today.

What works

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

What works for broken bones?

I know that in the old days, comfrey would be one of the herbs that people would suggest using. These days, every where I look I see tea tree oil, green tea with tea tree, tree tea in almost everything.

Mom doesn’t like green tea. I wonder if she would like something with tea tree oil in it? She has osteoporosis of the bones, kidney trouble, and other stuff going on at the same time. I wonder if there is something that she can take that wouldn’t hurt her kidneys. I’ve tried to get her to slow down on the regular tea, but she says she only drinks one bottle a day. I wonder.
