It’s coming

Saturday, December 10th, 2011

Welcome back!

Yup,. it is coming. Valentines day is coming, Christmas is coming, New Year’s Day is coming and so is Easter.

All of these holidays are on the way. Thanksgiving has passed, my tummy is still happy. Of course, pumpkin pie is also good for Christmas. For me, that type of pie is good all of the time.

It has been a while since I have had mincemeat pie. I still miss it, along with snow. :)

After the holiday, we are still able to give thanks.

We spent the day with family and talked, ate, laughed, and had a great time.

Yummy

Saturday, June 18th, 2011

I saw something on Facebook that had my juice glands watering.

It was an advertisement for cheap cookie gift baskets. I couldn’t believe what I was looking at.

The cookies were designed to look like different types of animals and they also had other designs. Someone must have a great imagination to do something like that. My problem is that I would be tempted to eat what I was decorating instead of making them for sale to others. Stuff happening

Wednesday, April 27th, 2011

With all of the stuff happening, right now I am a mess.

At least I do not need to use a fat burner. The things going on have taken away some of my appetite. That should help with weight loss, but I am not so sure that I will lose any.

The times when I do get hungry, I find myself wanting to eat a lot to make up for the times that I don’t eat a lot. Not having a lot in the fridge does help at the same time. We have food, just not a lot of junk food. :/

Dandelion

Monday, March 28th, 2011

Dandelion, dandelion, glowing so bright, with your little heads nodding in the sunlight.
Why it is that you don’t glow when the light is gone, mom did not like you much when you were in her lawn.
Get some running water, pluck those yellow flowers, pat them dry with paper towels, then dredge with seasoned flour.
Fry them in some cooking oil ’til they are golden brown. Eat them up ’til they are gone, your tummy will not frown.

Okay, I know - bad poetry. I am serious about the dandelion flower heads, though. When they are fixed as mentioned in the ‘poem’ they have a great taste. If you like fried mushrooms, you might like some fried sunshine.

My sis and I did that a while ago. It took about 2 years for that neighborhood to get some dandelions back. Talk about weed control. Too bad we did not know how to fix the greens or the root. I’ve heard that they are edible, too.

When I was still in grade school, we were told to talk about what we had done during the summer. Mom and I had spent our time working on her garden and lawn. She did not appreciate the dandelion very much. There were so many of those yellow flowers showing in her lawn that she created a new name for each one she dug up. I had the chance to tell the teacher that we both spent our time digging up ‘damdelions’. The teacher explained that that was not the right name for the flower/weed. I explained that mom called them that as she dug them up.

I understand, now, why she grinned. :)

Now we/I talk diets

Saturday, February 19th, 2011

When I grew up, there was only one way to diet. Change you food intake.

These days, people can also go to lipozene reviews, exercise, injections, liposuction…the list goes on.

Of course, if you cannot exercise, it limits your choices. If you are diabetic, it also limits your choices. The diabetic diet is just balanced food. Your body, after the onset of diabetes, does not process food the same way that it used to do.

My main problem is that the word diet has the word die in it. Diet is also a four letter word. There are good four letter words - love, food, cars, etc.

Chocolate Cupcake

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

I woke up from a delicious dream.

I dreamed of a business called ‘Chocolate Cupcake’. The business had brown letters that looked as if they had pink icing on top of them. Inside the business there were , of course, chocolate cupcakes, other cupcakes, cookies, candies, and of course coffee.

Of course, I also woke up hungry. Now, I get to figure out what to eat for lunch….

If you’re pregnant

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

If you are pregnant ( not me, just ladies in our family), one of the most important things to think about is making sure that you are getting the proper nutrition in your diet. After all, what you eat is helping to make your baby at the same time.

If you look online, you can find some of the best pregnancy vitamins, make sure to do the research, talk to your doctor, and talk to your pharmacist, too.

The right balance of information received from good sources can help you to make the right decision in what you eat, and what you take.

Have a healthy baby, first and foremost.

I hate diets

Saturday, December 11th, 2010

I guess that my blog name kind of gives that away.

I do NOT need weight gain supplements, I have a need to lose weight. Of course that is kind of hard to do when I LOVE hamburgers, lots of cheese, and other items.

In fact, I love cheese with a side of….cheese. Cheese, melted, toasted, baked, macaroni’d (is that a word?), with bread, without bread.

My sister used to say that i should have been born with giant ears like a certain female mouse that I won’t mention.

I LOVE CHEESE.

FOOOD

Friday, November 26th, 2010

Yup, we are having a lot of food tomorrow.

We will be having turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, gravy, herb bread ) no stuffing as my husband is allergic to sage), several pies, and cake.

We will have our brother come over and visit while this meal is being presented. In other words, we will be having a feast.

I have one word to say about it all - YUMMMMMmmm.
