It’s coming

Welcome back!

Yup,. it is coming. Valentines day is coming, Christmas is coming, New Year’s Day is coming and so is Easter.

All of these holidays are on the way. Thanksgiving has passed, my tummy is still happy. Of course, pumpkin pie is also good for Christmas. For me, that type of pie is good all of the time.

It has been a while since I have had mincemeat pie. I still miss it, along with snow. :)

Time to lose weight

Thursday, January 13th, 2011

It is that time again. It is after the holidays. How much did you eat? What about all of the goodies?

It is now time that people start to think about all of the best fat burner reviews. They look up the different types of things available.

Wouldn’t it have been easier in the beginning to use moderation when eating? I DIDN’T. So what am I saying……..

I also need to lose weight. :)

More Holiday Coming

Friday, November 26th, 2010

Yes, there are more holidays coming up. We have gotten past Thanksgiving for this year, now we have Christmas and New Years Day coming.

If you are addressing a lot of Christmas cards, some address labels would help with the return address on cards.

I usually like to favor using the hpone and talk to the ones that I like to keep contact with. After 9 pm, and on the weekends, our phone gets very busy with lots of talking being done. Us, the phone get a lot of use, all the time.

Cyber Monday

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

Guess what time it is again?

It is now time for Cyber Monday. This is the time for computer people to go on their computers and order what they want or need for the holidays that are coming. Whether or not the items are for themselves, or for another, the quicker that you order the item, the sooner that you no longer have to worry about the shipping time, or the mailing time.

I am going to take it easy this year. Cookies for everyone who visits ! YUM. Oh, by the way, the word DIET should not appear in your vocabulary right now.

Black Friday

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

It is not yet Friday. However, the stores are having sales and calling them Black Friday.

This year, people do not have to wait until after Thanksgiving to go and look for sales.

I wish that we had a lot of money right now to take advantage of these sales. I need some more skirts and tops since the ones that i wear all of the time are starting to have those little balls on them. You know what I mean? The little balls that show up on knitted items when they’ve been worn a lot and washed a lot and the thread is starting to get a little thinner?

“Nuf said.

Season Change

Friday, November 12th, 2010

I mentioned the change in the season by mentioning the sports events that will show up on TV, if it hasn’t already changed your TV program list.

One of the things that happens when the seasons change, is the change in the temperature of your home. Food changes with the up and coming holidays, so why not the window coverings?

Thicker curtains to keep out the cold, VeloBind, shades or other things to control just how much light is let in. If the world outside your home is changing, the TV programming changing, why shouldn’t your windows change to match what is going on outside?

Be Safe

Friday, December 26th, 2008

It is now after Christmas. We survived the over abundance of food, the happy chaos of family, and our own over eating.

We went over to our niece’s home and visited with all of the folks who showed up there. We thoroughly enjoyed the food choices laid out for everyone, the laughter, all of the talking, the games that were played by the young ones. We had a blast….make that BLAST.

Now the next holiday is one that has gotten people killed. Or rather, how they celebrate it has gotten them killed. Please be safe, if you want to celebrate, go celebrate, but do not get behind the wheel after you have had even ONE drink - that can be fatal. If not for you, then for others on the road. There are taxis that can be taken, you can stay home and drink, you can have a friend that does NOT drink drive you home.

PLEASE BE SAFE - LIVE.

Happy Thankgiving

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

I wanted to say - Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. We just spent the day at our niece’s home with family all around. This time I actually had a chance to contribute a lot to the food gathered for the dinner.

WE had many visiting family members that came and went, lot of laughter, food, kids, and fun. I wish everyone could have that type of day. There were no arguments from anyone. It was great.

I came from a family that only had 6 members. Mom, me, grandma, grandpa, 2 uncles and no one else - that was the whole family. Now I have my husband’s family which has members all over the place. I feel that is something to give thanks for. :)

Fall … please don’t

Sunday, November 23rd, 2008

Fall does not mean that you should fall over. :)

However, fall to me means that the leaves change color, start to fall down to the ground, the weather gets considerably cooler. Holidays are coming. Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines day, Easter. I do enjoy all of these holidays. I also do enjoy the decorating that can come with them.

Right now, I have a new seasonal decoration on the front porch. It has a white tree skirt that is spread out, a Christmas wreath in the middle, and the words around it that say - It’s About Jesus. Too many times Christmas has been thought about as gifts, Santa, Reindeer….yada, yada, yada.

Christmas might not be the exact day of Jesus’ birth, but it is the time that had been set apart in order to celebrate it. Where have all of the manger scenes gone? What about the angels? Too many times Santa is shown (He does not exist by the way.) in a sleigh. Gifts are nice to receive, but how many families go bankrupt trying to out give others when it comes to Christmas presents? How many give them selves to their families all year round? How many only think of giving during the ‘Holiday Season”? Please don’t forget that the best present that you can give to your family is YOURSELF. It doesn’t cost much, just time.

This fall, why don’t you rethink about a different type of ‘fall’. Fall in love with your family again. It will be a gift that can grow. It’s growth wouldn’t hurt unlike the National debt that keeps growing. This fall…please don’t forget to give yourself to you family. :)

Decorations

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

How do you decorate for the holidays? Do you go all out and get a lot of stuff from the store? Or, do you get craft supplies and make your own?

I am afraid that I do the latter type of decoration. At least that way I can change it each year and it is not the same. Sometimes I leave part of the decoration up for more that just a month, especially if it can be used by itself. Some people do body jewelry, others do house jewelry, some do interior jewelry. After all when you decorate, you are adding things to improve the appearance just like when people put on jewelry.

My Christmas lights stay up all year round. Here in Texas, people also use lights and fireworks for more than just one holiday. Since I love to add decorations, that makes Texas the ideal state for me to live in so I can have a lot of fun. :)
