I Remember

Friday, October 29th, 2010

Welcome back!

I remember the day that I got married. I also remember that for one of our anniversaries we did not have a whole lot of money, and my husband wanted to get me some roses. He drew them and left the card on the dining room table for me to find.

I realize that for the 3rd year anniversary gifts there might not be a lot of choices available, but I remember the card that he did for me.

If we were to celebrate our anniversary again with anniversary gifts by year, that card, or another one would be appreciated again. Of course, now there are such things as leather roses. They will not wilt, or rot and have to be thrown away. It would be wonderful…

just think, a beautiful flower arrangement sitting on the entertainment center for everyone to appreciate…..especially me. The idea that my husband could send me something that i like, and that is connected to motorcycles at the same time. :)

We know now

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

Well, got back from the doctor’s office. We know now what has been afflicting him. They call it diverticulitis. It is a pain in the intestines, and throwing up, and other stuff.

My husband is now on two types of antibiotics. We know that hormones and acne are not even in the running. He will possibly be on the meds for ten days, all the way up to 20 days. Cipro and the other stuff he has taken before without any trouble.

There is one thing that has worked out for the good, he has lost some more weight. Oh yeah, he does NOT have another hernia either. :)

Now we wait for him to get better.

Called Doctor

Sunday, October 17th, 2010

I called the doctor today.

He was not in the office but the secretary said that she would put eh information down as a priority. With heart trouble, diabetes, and other things going on in his body, my husband does not need the barfing all of the time.

I am concerned.

Healing update

Monday, August 30th, 2010

His arm is looking good. We recently had a regular doctor’s office visit and got a good report there. The incision on my husband’s arm is not looking infected, swollen or extremely irritated.

These are all good signs. He has not asked for any pain pills in a couple of days. The only time it gets sore now is when he forgets and tries to use it to lift something, or bumps it.

Soon he will be able to get the stitches out, and be able to use his arm again. :)

Soreness

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Yes, the cancer on his arm is gone. He is however having trouble with the soreness because of the operation.

I am thankful that the operation only took one cut to remove all of the cancer. The pain pills that my husband has are helping with the hurt, but the best way to get the hurt gone is for it to finish healing.

It is gone

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

The growth on my husband’s arm was a basil cell carcinoma.

It is gone, the doctor got it out the first time. He used a MOHS surgery to do it. Usually they cut out the offending item, then do an on site biopsy, then go back, shave some more out, do biopsy…etc.

He got it out with the first cut. Now, all that needs to be done is for the arm to heal, and the stitches to be removed in 3 weeks.

Almost over

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

Yes, my husband on his ordeal is almost over. The doctor is supposed to remove the catheter on Wednesday. I sure hope that it is removed. Thanksgiving will not be the same anyway.

He has been told by others who have had one of those things that he might find out about some side effects after the removal. I guess now is not the time to think about checking into orlando vacations. He will not feel like going anywhere, or doing anything.

I know that he and I both will be happy about its removal. He keeps waking himself up at night when he tries to turn over in bed and hang on to me. We are used to cuddling hen we sleep. I miss that greatly. He told me that he does miss it, too.

I have no idea what will be done next. I guess that is up to the urologist.

Well, there is something new

Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Yup, there is something new in our neighborhood.

My husband is finding out the the no joy of some of the practices of the urology department. At least they do not go to cattle supplies for their products that they use.

I used to work in a nursing home and saw a lot of different things that would be used on people. Catheters seem to be one of those things that also double as torture devices. I realize that they are sometimes neccessary, I just wish that they were designed to be more sensitive to those who have sensitive areas. I am not sure how they could be redesigned to be more comfortable, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t wish it was possible.

My husband is a stinker-brat

Saturday, May 2nd, 2009

Yup he is, but I love him anyway. After all he puts up with me too.

He can sneak up on me with some of the weirdest jokes. He has caught me off guard many times. It is when he waits until I have a mouthful of liquid or food, and then he lays a joke on my. Stinker-brat!

Of course when this happens he has a laugh that makes me want to laugh with him. So, I guess he can’t be all that bad. Come August, we will have been married for 26 years. Believe it or not, we only knew each other for 1 month when we got married. Out of that month, he spent 2 weeks in the hospital of all things. Well, being married to a stinker-brat is not the worst that can happen. He is NOT a grouch by any meaning of the word. To me, that is good.
