Welcome back!

No, it is not a name.

I took one word from an older Christmas carol to express what has happened in the last day or so. Saturday our church went on a hay ride and had a blast. Young and old, singing and non-singing, going through a nearby neighborhood, serenading anyone who wanted to listen.

We waved at passing cars, had people honk and wave back. This was fun and a time to treasure.

Today, we had church with a great message, great meal, a new singer who played a guitar beautifully, and afterward we exchanged gifts. We ended up having more laughter, smiles, and fun.

I hope that you can have a great time with your family, friends and others and also have a great time. :)

We love music

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

My husband and I both love a lot of types of music. Right now we are listening to early rock and roll to the tune of ‘Why must I be a teenager in love?’

Our grandpa had a bunch of cassette tapes of early rock and roll from the late 1850’s to the late 60’s.

It has been so much fun to hear all of the music. We can understand the words, hear the rhythm and actually sing along. I have no idea if the neighbors like to hear our voices, though. :)

Music

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

I have written about a lot of different things. Some that make me upset, some that make me sad, some that make me happy. Well, this one makes me happy.

I love music. Country music, Rythem and Blues, Pop, Easy listening, Classical, Rock and roll are different types that I like to listen to. There have even been a few rap pieces that caught my fancy. Sometimes it is the music that catches my interest, sometimes it is the words that catch me and then I get caught up in the music. I have to admit that my most favorite of all time is Gospel music. I love the harmony of the voices and the way that the different notes blend together in a wonderful beat. The message that gospel music gives is of course dear to my heart. When I’m tired it relaxes me. When I’m sad it encourages me. When I’m happy, it lets me celebrate along with it.

Music is something that all people have in common. There are so many different ways that people can express themselves that it is amazing. I have loved to listen to Irish folk music, Chinese music, Polka music, Spanish music, Mexican music, they all show the different feelings of the people of their countries. Music is wonderful. I hope that you are able to enjoy music yourself. It is something that most people can enjoy.

Songs

Sunday, August 10th, 2008

Practically everyone has a favorite song. Well, one I just heard on the radio sure is fun. It is a country song called ‘I’m still a guy’. I don’t know the man singing it, but he has a good voice.

Usually my favorite songs are gospel music, whether country style or otherwise. This song, however, talks about the differences between females and male. I’m glad that there are differences. They make life interesting. Any way, as the song plays and the singer explains how the male approaches things and how the female approaches things, all I can do is nod my head and sometimes, laugh.

There is no filth, violence, or dirty talking used, yet this song is great. I wish that others could learn that keeping things ‘G’ rated isn’t hard. :)
