Still here

Welcome back!

I am still here. I just went through some interesting things with my computer. I learn a little each day. Hopefully the computer survives what I do to it.

Some programs….well, lets just say that my experimenting sometimes has unfortunate results. I won’t dance around about it, although Dansko shoes should help even me to dance, I messed up. Erased somethings that I did not want to have erased.

With the help of my brother-in-law Ed, things are basically back to good operating condition. Here’s hoping that I learn and don’t mess up again. :)

Shoes

Friday, September 19th, 2008

What type of shoes do you wear? I imagine there are as many types of shoes as there are people. As for me I like to wear something that has been called thong slippers. You know the type where the strap goes between the toes and only the bottom of the foot is completely covered.

I used to wear clogs when I was young. Thick soles, covered foot, the heel exposed. I liked them for the ease of kicking them off. Now there are Dansko shoes which look similar. They look comfortable and easy to wear. The main reason why I no longer wear regular shoes is having to tie them when my hands hurt from Arthritis, and my feet sweat.

Being the shape that I am (very rotund) does not make it easy to tie shoes, and having hands that hurt also makes it hard. Those shoes that I mentioned earlier do look comfortable however. Maybe I’ll check them out more thoroughly and find something that I really like.

Ask Me No Questions

I’ll tell you no lies. I’ve heard that before. Like the catalogs that say–ONE SIZE FITS MOST. Which most are those catalogs talking about? Most Americans don’t fit into size 5 or 6, unless they are 5 or 6 years of age. What about feet? Yeah, them things that people walk on or trip over. Why is it so hard to find items that will fit most people? Have manufacturers change the definition of sizes; or, have most Americans grown.

Beds, for example. What is the basic dimension of a bed? Average Americans are no longer just 5ft. 4in. The men are 6 ft. and taller. The women are also taller. I can understand losing weight to fit into some clothes. What do you do about feet? You can’t just chop off toes in order to fit smaller shoes. If you’re too tall you can’t just chop off your legs to fit into short clothes or small cars. Maybe the designer of clothes, shoes, beds, cars and other things meed to rethink–ONE SIZE FITS MOST–HA! As if!
