Cleanup clothes

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

Welcome back!

What type of clothes would you wear for cleaning up after a flood?

I don’t know about you, but something tells me that jeans, t-shirts, even if they are rocawear jeans, would be better than using tuxedos, evening gowns, and such like.

I have never heard of people using formal wear to clean except for when Paris Hilton and the other lady wore high-heel shoes to do grunt work. Still can’t figure it out.

Tanning bed

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

That is a strange name for something that you re not supposed to sleep on, or in.

To me a bed is something used for sleeping. I don’t even want to think about flower beds, because when I plant something, it just seems to die and not grow.

Anyway…if you are going to use a tanning bed, I guess that you better find the right kind of lotion to use. You do not want to use something that will let you burn, or let your skin be harmed. There is a web site called - www.tanningbedlotion.com - that seems to check out different types of lotions.

Not everyone will try to get a tan, but if you are one of those who do, using something to help keep your skin from getting damaged just seems the smart thing to do.

Still looking

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

We are still looking for some shoes, or boots that my brother can wear.

I know that women’s rain boots would not be the answer. I just hate that he has to special order his footwear.

I, myself, because of my size, order large clothing. Let’s face it, I would not blow away in a gale because of my size. I would make a good anchor for someone skinny, or small in stature to hold onto.

My husband is 6 feet tall and orders some of his clothes from catalogs that specialize in that type of clothes. Most of the time if he gets his shirts from the store, the shirt does not cover his belly very well, and he cannot tuck the shirt into his pants. When we go into the store with my brother walking between us, it reminds me of a sandwich cookie that does not have enough filling. :/

Mr Brother

Monday, September 27th, 2010

My brother has a problem.

He is not a giant of a fellow like my husband. There are places that have clothes for big people, tall people, but nowhere do I find petite clothing. I wear a woman’s size eleven shoe, sometimes a ten will fit.

My brother wears a man’s size 7 shoe or boot. I have no idea where to look. So far he orders special from a nearby department store and pays a big price. He makes his shoes last a long time, but even then, sooner or later, he has to replace what he wears.

PS It wasn’t until I had published this article that I noticed I made the title wrong. sorrry

Did you know…..

Saturday, July 3rd, 2010

There are a lot of different types of check out registers that can be used at a business? There bar code scanners, POS systems, and other things.

Some of these systems will automatically keep track of what is being sold, and will tell you when something needs to be restocked, and then there are other……..

In other words, blah, blah, blah into infinity. I never knew there were so many different ways that people could spend money and the retailer can keep track of what is being sold and when it should be re-ordered.

I was told, growing up that computers would help to make things easier and simpler.

DUH, I don’t think so.~~~~~~~~ That is paperwork, friends. Computers have made paperwork even more essential. :)

Well…zzzzzzzzzzz

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

We need a new mattress.

The one that we are using right now has some serious trouble with it. It has a broken edge in the box spring, right on my husband’s side of the bed. We have a board under it, but the board sometimes moves when we toss and turn at night.

He has awakened on the floor sometimes, and that is a very rude awakening for him. Me, too, for he hollers when he lands. The mattress top is higher than usual to make it easier to get in and out since we both have arthritis and lots of aches and pains.

We will get back on this later.

Hair on my face

Saturday, May 8th, 2010

I have a problem that some other ladies have. I have hair on my face that I do not want.

I realize that testosterone cream would not help. It would just make things worse. As it is, I have to pluck it out a lot, or I would look as if I had side burns. EYUK !

I realize that I am not the only one who has to deal with some issues here. I do not mind if my husband is fuzzy; but, I do not think he wants me fuzzy at the same time.

I do not think that Cinderella had this problem.

‘Spare’ time

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Well, for the first time in 2 years, we actually have a spare tire that might live up to its name.

I spent the better part of the day running around, calling around, and finally finding a tire that was bought. I almost feel as if one of my nieces gave me some baby announcements. I know it might sound silly to get excited about such a thing as a spare tire, but when you haven’t had one for a while, it is exciting.

Too many times we have had to go 20 miles somewhere and went without having a spare, or even a jack. Well, spare it is and jack is in the back. Me happy. :)

Transferring

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

I am not transferring to another country (in spite of Obamacare), or to another school (I have been out of school for decades).

I have been transferring information from one computer to another. Oh joy….NOT. I need a flash drive. At least that is what my brother-in-law who is a computer dude, says. He says that I can put all of the information onto the flash drive, and then zip it into my other computer and then go to town.

Where do I find one? :) (smiley face with hope)
