Here I am again

Welcome back!

This sounds like another song doesn’t it? *snicker inserted here*

I am just being a smart alec. Or in other words I am being very elliptical in getting to the point of what I am writing. I have been reviewing some of what I’ve been writing and noticed a lot of gripes. Well, griped are OK in their own way and in their own time. People do need a way to blow off steam in one way or another.

So far, in our country you are allowed to gripe, grouch, groan, etc., or in other words to express your opinions. Since I can describe myself in 3 words - opinionated fat broad- being able to express my opinions is a plus. I am, after all, NOT a pressure cooker designed to hold pressure and not explode. It is nice to realize that many other people in the internet are also opinionated, too. :)

How many cities have songs that are written with them in mind?

Think about it : Amarillo by morning, New York New York, Chicago, Walkin’ to New Orleans, the list can go on. What cities are also mentioned? I can’t remember them all. What about soap operas? Remember when the TV soap Dallas was on? I bet that many Dallas Texas hotels had a boom in their businesses.

The only trouble with that is if the city gets a bad name for it. Where I live the town, yes I did say town, is not well known. Some of the cities around it are known, but I do not know if they have any songs named for them. Waco, Austin, Houston are well known, but do they have any songs?

Just remembered one for a state - Guess I’d rather be in Colorado. :)

Music

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

I have written about a lot of different things. Some that make me upset, some that make me sad, some that make me happy. Well, this one makes me happy.

I love music. Country music, Rythem and Blues, Pop, Easy listening, Classical, Rock and roll are different types that I like to listen to. There have even been a few rap pieces that caught my fancy. Sometimes it is the music that catches my interest, sometimes it is the words that catch me and then I get caught up in the music. I have to admit that my most favorite of all time is Gospel music. I love the harmony of the voices and the way that the different notes blend together in a wonderful beat. The message that gospel music gives is of course dear to my heart. When I’m tired it relaxes me. When I’m sad it encourages me. When I’m happy, it lets me celebrate along with it.

Music is something that all people have in common. There are so many different ways that people can express themselves that it is amazing. I have loved to listen to Irish folk music, Chinese music, Polka music, Spanish music, Mexican music, they all show the different feelings of the people of their countries. Music is wonderful. I hope that you are able to enjoy music yourself. It is something that most people can enjoy.

Songs

Practically everyone has a favorite song. Well, one I just heard on the radio sure is fun. It is a country song called ‘I’m still a guy’. I don’t know the man singing it, but he has a good voice.

Usually my favorite songs are gospel music, whether country style or otherwise. This song, however, talks about the differences between females and male. I’m glad that there are differences. They make life interesting. Any way, as the song plays and the singer explains how the male approaches things and how the female approaches things, all I can do is nod my head and sometimes, laugh.

There is no filth, violence, or dirty talking used, yet this song is great. I wish that others could learn that keeping things ‘G’ rated isn’t hard. :)
