Welcome back!

Yesterday we wnt through 5 bucks in gas. For our 4 cylinder van, that is amazing. Today, we went through 5 more dollars in gas. (We are paying at 2.47 a gallon right now)

I could wish for a text alert system to tell us where the cheepest gas in the county is, but I think that what we have in our town isn’t so bad. Since I am the prnicipal driver, I am rather tired right now. My husband is already asleep. I am thinking of joining him as soon as I get done here on the internet. I saw a lot of the countryside today. Hills, roads, towns, cars, cars, cars….did I say cars?

Well, can’t think what else would be so visible on the road. Oh yeah, trucks, and motorcycles, too. :)

Got to thinking

Friday, September 18th, 2009

After writing that last article, I got to thinking.

The rain that we had actually closed down Salado, Texas. The news said that it is open for business again. I was thinking that a good vacation would come in handy during the gully washer. Let’s see Cozumel vacations, Vacations on the Riviera, Bahamas, where else?

Oh yeah, you could stay at home and not go outside at all - boring. Travel can be fun. Just think, if you let someone else drive you there is all of the sightseeing that you could do as you travel. Sit back, relax, watch out the window, watch the billboards go by. Watch the traffic around you. Have you ever noticed that people can be weird sometimes? Of course, I am poifectly noimal - NOT. :)

Where did it start?

I mentioned a Strawberry Daquari Ice. Now, I am thinking, where did it start?

I figure that a Pina Colada probably started in the tropics somewhere, but strawberries? How far would someone have to travel to get there and what about getting travel insurance online in order to go?

Knowing the way that things happen, I would only need to travel to the southern part of the US for something about strawberries. At least going to the origin of the Pina Colada could get me to the Bahamas or even Hawaii. :)

Car Insurance

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

One of the things that I wondered about when our friend was traveling was his car insurance. How did he keep it intact. Most states require the presence of car insurance these days, and they now have ways of checking if your car insurance is up to date even if they do not stop you and ask for proof of insurance. How do you compare auto insurance when you are traveling? How do you find a good deal with a reputable firm? I do not know. We have had our insurance with the same firm for almost 25 years now. When we did move from Arkansas to Texas, we kept the same firm, although we changed the agent to who ever was local.

I used to like the idea of travel, but thinking on all that would take to do now…don’t think it would be as enjoyable as it once was. Keeping track of people, medicine, a place to sleep, food to eat, shelter, family, friends. I guess there is something to be said for roots that are put down in one location, in one locale.
