Season Change

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Welcome back!

I mentioned the change in the season by mentioning the sports events that will show up on TV, if it hasn’t already changed your TV program list.

One of the things that happens when the seasons change, is the change in the temperature of your home. Food changes with the up and coming holidays, so why not the window coverings?

Thicker curtains to keep out the cold, VeloBind, shades or other things to control just how much light is let in. If the world outside your home is changing, the TV programming changing, why shouldn’t your windows change to match what is going on outside?

After the Games

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Think about it, after the games are off the TV, what are you going to do with the gut from all of the snacking?

There are so many diets out there that I could give no suggestion. Of course there are available, the top 10 diet pills. I have no idea how each diet pill works, but I know that they are out there for people to choose from.

Diets will be used to lose all of the TV weight gain, but if people would eat healthy foods, the gut from TV games would not be as bad.

Not Political

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

Right now, I am not being political. I like giving my opinions, though. Politics have enough time on the TV these days. I think that other things need some promotional products of their own.

Some of the commercials that can be seen on TV can actually be entertaining. There is one where a good looking guy is sitting backwards on a horse. I cannot remember the product though, because I am usually too busy looking at the guy and wondering how he can keep a straight face while riding backwards. Good actor I guess.

I still miss the chihuahua who was talking and selling stuff. Cute is good, anoying is not good.

Lady, you are scaring the neighbors

Friday, April 17th, 2009

I recently saw a commercial that had me saying that phrase above.

The woman was trying to get her husband to do something, or stop doing something. She had all of her face covered with pasty white something or another. Probably cold cream - YUK.

The way that I figure it, she should wash her face and then try to talk to her husband if she wants him to actually listen to her. I have no idea where the ad agencies get their ideas. Some are funny as all get out, others are nothing but irritating - at least to me they are. I am not happy when they treat the customers are if they are morons, or should be morons in order to buy their products. I cannot be alone with my opinions, can I?

TV

Friday, August 15th, 2008

Simple title for something that is not so simple, ain’t it? :)

What can I say, but that our favorite TV station - KWTX News 10 - gave an upbeat news program that was good news. They interviewed a veteran of the Iraqi war who had gone back to Iraq to see what changes, if any, there were to be seen. The man talked to the soldiers who were stationed there and mostly he was told that they were bored. The Iraqi people are doing most of the work and the American soldiers were bored.

You do not hear that on the national news.

I wonder why that is? Don’t you think that the American people would be glad to hear that the troop surge has worked? The more that things get better over there, the quicker that our soldiers can come home without the chance of things going bad after they are gone.

Well, any way, if you want to see this news article for yourself, go to the KWTX web site, and click on the ‘find it’ button. Look for - Vets For Freedom 08.15.08.

This is a Test

Monday, July 7th, 2008

This is a test, this is only a test. If this was an actual emergency…..what are you doing on the internet?

I have wanted to say that for some time now. So many people are on the internet, and don’t watch TV any more, I wonder how many would miss something going on? I have grown up hearing that announcement on the TV stations when they test the emergency broadcasting signal, that I can sometimes hear that voice in my sleep.

Our nation has gone so digital that computer terminology has made it into the mainstream language of everyday people. Even an analog person like I am has heard some things. Okay for example: text me, LOL, ROFL. There is even an irritating commercial where the mother of the family is trying to talk to the family members and all they want to do is talk using the alphabet. Makes me want to yank the phones out of their hands and send them back to school to learn how to communicate politely. YUK ! I have even learned to do the smiley face :) I have also tried to do a puppy face :3< or it could be called a kitty face. What has happened to ordinary conversation between people? I hope that it isn’t a lost art form.

Digital Television

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Ecerywhere we turn the tv , no matter which channel, we keep hearing how good that digital tv is and will be.

We’ve got an analog set, a converter box, and an amplified antenna. Everything is hooked up. We sat down to watch the set and saw a lot of funny looking pictures with weird sounds. It’s hard to watch tv when you can’t make out what is being said or what is happening. We had to keep changing the angle of the antenna all the time. I even tried to mark the position which seemed to help get the best reception, but it kept changing. We’re supposed to have 15 different stations but can only watch actively 3 or 4 of them. The rest keep breaking up. Without the box, we receive 5 stations clearly without any problems.

We’ve given it up for now. We use the fancy amplified antenna and watch our regular stations with no problem.

Is Digital REALLY supposed to be better? Can’t tell.
